Hi, My Poison Spider Wraith has pretty much sat on a shelf for the longest time, recently I took it out and chewed up the spur gear and now can't find a replacement - do I need to change the tranny to something more common? I used to use Robinson Racing Supertuff Spur Gears (80 Tooth, 48 Pitch) but stock of these seems to have dried up. What is everyone else using? Cheers, Pedro |

the 48p gears suck you need 32p pinnion and spur gear and dont worrie about the clutch pads just lock it out or buy a slipper eliminator ive always locked my slippers from day 1 i see non reason for a clutch and if youndont have the metal gears inside the trans you should make that upgrade while your in there the little middle gear likes to poop the bed |

Yes, I lock my slipper clutch normally. And I was running the Wraith Spawn gear but can’t find spares anywhere. I wouldn’t mind changing to 32dp gear as I have all steel gearbox internals already. Could someone suggest which 32dp spur and pinion to buy please? Cheers |

the wraith spawn used 32p gears from the factory so if you already converted to spawn parts you should already have the right pinnion heres the stock spur gear https://www.ebay.com/itm/17277126781...mis&media=COPY there are alot of aftermarket gears too and it dosent matter so much what brand the gear is made for as long as the pitch and teeth are right stock is 56t if i remeber right you can go up to 60 teeth with out it hitting the drive shaft but your gear cover might not fit |

Ahh, my bad. I meant I’m running the Poison Spider gear, not Spawn. Thanks for the help. I’ll get some Spawn spur and pinions. Cheers |

the stock wraith gearing is a bit high and has a tendency to smoke the motor when doing hard crawls you should have a single disk slipper clutch on that that bolts the clutch plate to the gear so any 32p spur with the holes in it will work fine the spawn spur has the holes predrilled so it should work just fine for you Last edited by ferp420; 11-19-2022 at 07:04 AM. | |
