I have. I actually have 2 bodies. One I got weeks ago and I forgot to clean it out before painting. The paint isn't perfect on it but it still looks good. For the other, I decided that I'd pay tribute to my drifter color scheme. All the body pics: http://www.noeither.com/rc/pictures/...8-29-20101.htm Here is body #1 fully decked out: I think if i get some blue or white rings it will look a little better too. And Body #2 with all the stickers: You will note one small change I already made. I didn't like the way the front clip went in. I had to drill a hole on the blue/white body and it was still not laying flat. So I drilled another hole in the body mount and turned it 90*. I actually drilled where the mount goes into it's mount and not the top/tip because I thought that would weaken it too much.... I also snapped a few comparisons of the new XR10 bodies to the XC-1's for those that are interested: |

I am going to bring it to Barton Springs or Balcones the first chance I get. Hoping for next weekend but it depends on my schedule for work and delivery times on the stuff I ordered. I will let the TXRCRCA guys know when/where so yall can all come and check it out. Last edited by Locked Up; 08-30-2010 at 09:19 AM.

| I got my next batch of goodies in yesterday and spent the night doing my wiring. My first problem came with my servo being a hair (2mm actually) to long. The CS170 I used for mock-up fit perfectly but the Airtronics hit the motor. Rather than file down my servo I slapped in some spacers and called it good ... for now. The Alum arm was a no brainer. Then I noticed the servo lead would be too short to go all the way back. Good thing I have a bunch of random in a box. This was my first time wiring up dual ESCs and it took a little longer but no rocket science involved. I did place my stuff in the "wrong" locations for a reason, and I'll go over all of that in the next phase of my writeup. For now, I need to get some sleep so I'll just post up a pick of the draft 1 wiring: Last edited by Locked Up; 09-02-2010 at 11:05 PM. |

I ran 2x 2200 packs through it today (my scaler batts). I told myself I would just stretch it's legs but .... I bound it up enough to stall out my holmes handwound 40ts. Seems to have tolerated my abuse just fine. I will say this rig is very different for me. I used to run about 50/50 droop, this is maybe 20% droop. My AX10 weighed nearly 10 lbs, this weighs 5lbs 13oz. It is my first MOA and I'm not used to my radio at all ... but already I see the improved capabilities. Once I get all my electronics sorted out (ESC setup with proper curves, etc) ..... my fellow TXRCRCA members will be in trouble. I'll post up the few pics I took in the morning. For now, the wife is calling .... |

A few pics from yesterday: http://www.noeither.com/rc/pictures/.../9-4-20101.htm Hopefully I will get to do some testing in Austin next week or weekend. Still waiting on my batteries, weighs and the hotwire for my FXRs. I have noticed that even with the expo setting on my 4pk I'm not getting the low end control I need from the FXrs. If the hotwire doesn't fix it I might drop down in pinion and/or to some 55ts. I also messed around with the links tonight. Still trying to dial in the right wheelbase and weight bias but it is getting there. |

If you are running my suggested setup I suggest you remove the EXPO. It does not work with the programming. That may be part of your issue actually. Wait until your hotwire comes in and dial in expo using that. |

I really like the sunburst body you painted up. Looks a lot like: Rock & Crawl |

I have found those colors the easiest to blend by rattle can... MRC: Drifter: My first Crawler: Somehow my AX10 narrowly avoided the scheme: Last edited by Locked Up; 09-07-2010 at 08:33 AM.

| I know what you mean, the Castle stuff is butter smooth. Make sure the FXR's have the latest firmware when you get the hotwire. Depending where you buy them they might not be up to date. Some of the updates made drastic changes.

I got the new software installed on the FXRs and it is FAR superior to the original setup. I think with a drop in pinion I'll be perfect. It's hard to compare to my single motor experience and since I am running 40t motors I'm behind the 8 ball. Some testing on the rocks will make the determination but so far it is bench testing very, very well. I also got my VP slugs in and am tinkering with link & shock lengths. Hope to get some major testing done this weekend. Last edited by Locked Up; 05-26-2011 at 11:54 AM. |
