Step by Step XR10 Build
 

I just finished a complete step by step XR10 build on our blog. It's meant to be a guide for a box stock XR10 build. We will be adding more content for the XR10 soon such as wiring set-ups, radio set-up, dig set-ups, etc. 8)

Wow....How long did it take to put this together....Great job...Took me about 5
hours to complete my build.....Cant imagine how long it took to compile all the
pics...

Took the better part of 2 weeks to do the complete build with all the pictures. Then another week to resize the pictures and write the articles. "thumbsup"

that looks like it took alot of time. even though you have a cool job it still had to be rough going slow and taking pictures of the build. then the resizing has to be the worst task of all. great write up and awesome service after the sale."thumbsup"

Bender I bet it felt good to finish this one up. Very very impressive. This will help alot of people out. Nice work man.

FYI - Windows Live Writer (free) makes things writing complex posts, image resizing, etc, a lot easier.

but some questions

drawing #16 shows the 36t idler in the other direction and there is a !Note Direction behind

drawing #7(and #21) suggests you dont need to grease the final gear
and alot of guys will run it without

I think it would probably be a good idea to link Brandon´s rear axle installation precautions into your description, just to prevent people from sticking their cat in the microwave, since you didn´t repeatedly mentioned it in your build-guide.

I have run the idler gears facing both ways without any issues at all, so the noted direction isn't super critical. I have also run the whole gearbox dry for extended periods of time too, and the wear was minimal. But, I do mention lubing the finals gears in the blog build. 8)

I noted the screw length issues in the beginning, and at the proper steps. Hopefully, that will keep people headed in the right direction. "thumbsup"

this may sound off-topic? .... but i'd like to know what causes the rear spools of the xr-10 axles to breakdown? ...... is it because the guys who broke it placed the spools in the opposite direction? .... or they just drove it hard?

just got me some xr-10 axles and would like to clear this up before i assemble them ....

Its prob because they drive there axial like there bully or berg..:roll:
I have yet to experience a single issue.
