| Shock set-up?
I haven't seen anybody posting info on how they are setting up their shocks......is anybody using the variable rate pistons? I'm at that part of my build and not sure what setup to use.

The machined pistons are very good. Front 30wt, rear 50wt Front pink Losi Mini-LST(not entirely sure but itīs some Losi 1:18 front spring), springs rear Grey Losis, but Iīll probably switch to whites or the stockers, since the narrow and light rear end starts to flip first when sidehilling. Front shocktowers almost all the way up and in the rear almost all the way down to get the chassis tilted towards more clearance at the rear of the skid. Uli |

These are closer to the XR10 shocks but not exactly (different AL parts) One of my XR10 shocks leaked from the top (cap) the first time I installed it, but it was user error. I guess the lack of sleep from my all night build didn't do wonders for my brain capacity. I took it apart and found that I had overtightened it and it had twisted the shock diaphragm (AX30112) in there. The shock diaphragm is what seals the shock in the top. If you over tighten it, it can get twisted up and the shock will leak. You do need to take care to make sure it seats evenly, or the shock will leak. So I took care to not go Godzilla tight with it when I put it back together. problem solved. If your shock is leaking from elsewhere I can't help you as that is the only place mine leaked. | Well what I am trying is just your standard 2 hole piston with losi golds at all four corners. Going 70wt up front and 80wt out back for starters. I used to go light on oil but alot of guys in my club run heavier and their trucks seem to work well that way. I will adjust as needed but I am using this as a starting point.

I'm running the dual pistons...They fell great...But I thinking of going to the machined pistons again, running around 40wt with gold springs on all four. Just an idea though. |

Just running the machined pistons with 30wt, would like to heard what position you all are running your shocks in and how they perform compared to your other rigs

If they are leaking from the bottom, use a larger (thicker) O-ring from hardware store, 5/16" ID x 7/16" OD x 1/16" thick, sometimes hard to find. That is how I fixed my 103mm from Axial for my shafty. But my XR10's are working fine and it appears they came with a thicker O-ring than before. |

I tried the variable rate pistons and they didn't fit well. There was a lot of rubbing and they didn't seem to work well at all so, I used the other pistons provided. If you are interested in variable rate pistons try the RPM they seem much better manufactured. |

I run the dual rate pistion's in mine with the stock 35wt oil and losi white springs all around. I know a few people drove it at Nats and loved it. FYI, you do have to take a piece of fine sand paper and touch up the outside of the piston until it feels smooth. For those of you that are having leaking problems, make sure you use oil or a grease on the o-rings/threads when you first install them to keep from tearing the o-rings. |

Whites and grays definitely feel better than Golds do on this truck. They allow it to side hill better but side hilling is still sub par compared to what I'm used to. Is anyone limiting their shocks? |

| When you put the pack in pull everything down to bottom of shock by putting bottom cap on losely and pull shaft down HARD then tighten...not very good instructions.....the black ring needs to expand to fit the shock body and the pack is what expands it...took me a while too
