| Axial XR10 beadlock rims don't fit my Chisels?
Just wondering if anyone has had problems getting the Pro-Line Chisels to fit the Axial beadlock rims? I thought they would fit just fine, as I remember seeing photos of the Chisels (I think) on the XR-10, but when I tried fitting the Chisel's bead into the rim's channel, it refused to fit, as though the channel of the rim is not wide enough for the bead to slide in. I must have tried squeezing and pushing the bead into the channel for 30 mins, using whatever narrow tools I could to shove it in, but it made no difference. It just won't fit. I could only get about 1/3 of the bead into the channel, leaving an awful lot of bead to get smashed by the rings.

I'm running G8 Chisels and they mounted up on stock wheels with no problems whatsoever.

Weird. I guess I should keep trying, but in the mean time, I've ordered up some Vanquish rims. I know they fit the Chisels. I have a VP rim/Chisel combon on one of my other 2.2 crawers. Fit is perfect.

I had the same problem..No matter what i tried they just would not go in to the channel..I decided that i would just use to bead lock ring to mash them in.Snugged them down in a star pattern and let the beadlock do the work. The freezer trick might be a worth a try though.I hear leaving them in for four hours works great..Lets us know if anything works for you.Good luck

I had the same problem mounting my rovers to these wheels. I think they made the groove just a little too tight. 2 tires went right in and 2 were a pain in the butt. I used some silicone spray and that helped. I think the problem is the tires, I was looking at the bead lock and in so me places the rubber is thicker than others. Its a bummer though, I love the way these wheels go together. 6 screws much better than 12 =) |
