Default xr 10 pinion gear suggestions

New to crawling. I am about to order the xr10 with the following specs.

Holmes esc http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...4&cat=2&page=1

2x holmes 45t motors http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...&cat=17&page=1

Hitec servo hs 7950 TH http://www.hitecrcd.com/products/ser...hs-7950th.html

Do I need to order pinions for the motors?

If so what are you guys running and what should I order.

Thanks

The kit comes with 14t pinions. I would start with these. I am running 35t Tekin motors and i will run 13t pinions when they come off back order. I will start with the 14's though if that's any help

I am running 45t's I dropped down to 13t pinions to get a little more torque. The 13t seems to be a better mix of torque and wheelspeed for me but to each his own.

From what I've seen, 13 tooth is as small as I'd want to run. I have the motors jammed as close as they'll go with 13's and it's perfect mesh. I'd think 12t would be a bit loose.

I am running 45t's and started with the 14t stock pinions. I would start with the stock ones and change them if you feel you need more torque. Currently I am running 13t pinions and it is a good mix of speed and torque but not a huge difference in my opinion.

I am running a 10T in the rear and a 12T in the front (once it arrives) but I am also running 25T motors. I wanted to run 35T motors but I already had these so I thought I would gear it down and give it a whirl.

I am actually suprised because its not hard to control at all, should be even better once the 12T for the front arrives, Right now I am running the stock 14T in the front. I had to modify the motor mount holes in the plate in order to get the 10 tooth pinion to have proper gear mesh.

I am running 45t front and rear with a 16t up front and 14t in rear. Has a good overdrive in front. I will be going to 35t once these motors die and a 15t up front and a 14t in the rear
