I actually ended up putting on Monster energy cans for motor protection. I went wheeling out at Indian Rock Park in Berkeley yesterday after work, that place is pretty sweet! Lots of different lines to take.

I finally painted the body, I think it turned out pretty good

I found someone selling a set of 1" SLW V1's, black on black and couldn't pass up the deal. I can't wait to get them

Works great! I saw it somewhere else and had to copy the idea since it simplifies the wiring a bit and I'm all about that

You said you were having trouble with your front tires rubbing your shocks....

Mount the shocks to the inside (inboard) of the shock mount on the axle instead of in the center of it where you have them.

You might have to go with some longer rod ends, or space your spring cup up a little to keep from hitting the gear box, but it gets you more turning and flexing with less tire scrub.

Although overkill, I'm going to run all box links....aesthetics more than anything else.

You know, I was thinking about spacing the spring cups up. For now, the tires are staying out of the shocks but I'd still like to get them mounted inboard like you said; just need to pick up some longer M3 screws

No modifications needed to run the machined links. I wanted to run the 30* bent uppers for cost reasons and you seem to have a little bit more clearance to fit batteries and/or a longer electronics tray, if you so choose.

Speaking of electronics tray, I got rid of all the stock Axial stuff and made a flat sheet of clear plastic that bolts on where the stock one does. Fits great with a couple risers! There is a little bit of interference where the lower links contact the tray but that's at full compression.

After digging around my bags of parts, I found some stainless bolts, aluminum spacers and cone washers that will work Bling bling yo!

This setup has plenty of clearance in all directions. I'm convinced this is the absolute best setup utilizing factory components (plus longer M3 screws)

I didn't use either kit tray. I cut a piece of .040 lexan which runs from the back of the baseplate to about 1/2" shy of the bend in the upper 30* links, and mounted it straight to the baseplate. Novak M2Dig mounted in the rear, receiver mounted on it's side in the middle, and the battery forward. Currently using a Losi square 2S 600 LiPo designed for the Losi Mini Crawler. It can fit batts up to about 2 1/2" long.

In this pic, the rcvr is mounted flat, but I put it on it's side to give me more battery options. Very neat and clean solution, much lower CG than stock, and it was cheap and easy to do. I put 4 washers on each side to match the tray spacers at the shock mounts, but have since replaced them with a single 4mm lock collar/spacer (much easier to work with than 8 washers when making changes!) per side.

Looks like the rod end on your shock is cracked. Better fix that before any comp you may be attending. Hate to break that on gate 1.

That happened due to me tightening the rod end past the threads on the shaft. I'm not worried about it since I doubt I'll be running any comps any time soon with school starting in a month.
