Harley,
question on wiring the BEC up.
Is it ok to solder the BEC close to the ESC posts?

Or should i solder up be the battery connection?

Starting to wire the dual FXR and BEC but trying to keep it as clean as possible.
I was looking a other wiring pics. I saw yours but i couldn't tell where the BEC is connected.
Thanks for the help!!

Also looking at motors the handwound from holmes hobbies and wondering what all info I need to give them so I don't wind up with the wrong ones. If anyone can help I would be very greatful.

Yes you still need a BEC.

I give my recommendation in this thread on what motors. 35 turn Torque Masters is my suggestion although I have recently upgraded to the 16 turn Crawl Masters for a smoother lower end control.

X2 on the 16t crawl master 5 pole motors!!

They have the smoothest low end and killer wheel speed on 3S lipos!! I run the 850mAh 45c thunder power lipos and can get as much as 3 courses out of them when I run conservatively, but damn is it hard to run conservatively with that much power on tap!!

That is completely dependent on the radio you use.

It comes with a RX that works well. Otherwise you can pick up a 2106GF is cheap and small.

Everything you need to know about the 4PL is located in my 4PL thread in the electronics section. Get familiar with it!

Hey Harley you should add this mod to your list. A bunch of people run it now with zero issues.

4xFord's axle case thread upgrade:

McMaster part # 94510A030

And here is some info off the baggy they come in.

They are 3mm internal threaded brass inserts that tighten into the axle case when you thread a screw through them. Drill the case out to 5/32" and add a little drip of CA glue before inserting the insert.

I saw that the other day, I hadn't seen it in your thread before. I'll add it and a link to the appropriate section.

Nice work BTW, having the confidence in your threads would be a big upgrade without going AL.

Trust me I have been reading up on it even before I bought my truck. I haven't received my radio yet so didn't know it came with one but thank you for all the help.
