Default XR10 Overdrive front axle?

Hi all,

I just want to see if anyone has tried this and what their experience was like.

I'm running my XR10 with a single sidewinder esc and dual 55t motors. I was wondering if I could get a little more crawling performance out of this temporary setup by over driving the front axle by a tooth or two. I eventually will get another ESC or maybe just a dig unit.

Thanks

Yes...that will be a good improvement when running a single ESC.

Yes. That's actually common in people with dual ESC's. A little over drive is nice at times. But sometimes, it hurts on an MOA in my opinion. With the clod stall factor, an over driven front end on a hill will amplify clod stall. Sometimes you dont want clod stall.

I'm getting more clod stall than I want right now, and I think the fix is going to be a second esc. My motors aren't the best either. I'm using the Axial 55T motors. I think I'll pick up some 55T integy motors.

I'll report back with my results on the gear up.

Thanks for the quick replies

a slight gear up pinion in the front will work well for the front as a cheap fix for now with one esc till your budget goes up for other stuff

Hello
i am using 2 CC sidewinder micro for my XR10.. It s a must.. nothing else..
I get much -very much- more performece in climbing because i set the power ratio rear-front to 80:100 (or 75-100) 100% rear, 80% front.. perfect!

I use my dual esc`n VERY active all the time when crawling.. Setting the rear from -60% and up to 120% in some situations..

Mostly it`s set at 90-100%. (rear esc)

I could never go back to a locked % distribution after seeing what variable can do..

But i`m sure its better to do 1 tooth more up front, than 50%-50% on a single esc setup..
