I think i've been officially bitten by the crawler bug...I blame it all on this site! I've dabbled with it from a scale standpoint, had a semi-serious TLT rig a few years ago but never built a "full on" crawler. I picked this up as it has a ton of cool features, lots of adjustability, and a strong aftermarket. Lots of engineering here, and good quality - sa far it's been a fun build. Axial did a great job. Parts gathered...Kinda on a budget with this. No need at this time for dual FXr's or anything fancy, what I have here is already above my crawling abilities.. Just wanted something solid to get started with. Did upgrader the gearboxes, but otherwise it's pretty stock. Also snagged a Novak M2 3S to play with the dig. Have plenty of rigs I can use this on later if I decide to upgrade. Axles and their cases. 55t motors..very nice, and the only VP products you'll ever see on my rigs again. Shame, the parts are beautiful. Links and shocks. I picked up a set of TRX big bores and losi springs for this build, but I like the feel of the stockers so they are staying for now. Think they might be a little stiff though. Chassis is almost done, still needs a bit of tweaking and got my tires in. Did this all day sunday while watching the Eagles get bombed. Awesome way to spend a Sunday. (Building the kit that is, not watching the birds self-distruct) Decided to be a bit different and experiment with Badlands. I have Sedonas, Chisels, and sticky Ripsaws from the wraith kit handy too to try out different set-ups. FedEx dropped the ball and delivered my tires to someone else, who opened it and somehow lost the foams (?? jerks) ....working on replacements . More coming... Nice build so far, but have to ask, whats the reason for no more vanquish products? To exspensive or what?

Badlands Right on. Not a bad tire at all... just a little short by todays standards.

Crap - I even read that in the tips sections and still screwed it up. Would have figured it out later on I'm sure when it came time to mount the body - It's sitting weird, so I knew something was off. Just was not pleased with the way the order went down. All I'll say about it - not intending to turn this into a bash thread against a highly respected vendor here. As far as the price, once you pick up a product, you'll see where your $$ went - they really are nice looking parts. | |

The rig is looking good so far. Enjoy the build, IMO it's as much fun as Driving these things. Oh, don't forget... There's several places to pick up Vanquish parts. |

For a guy who just joined last month, you have a bunch of builds going at once..I think this is the third I've seen? Nice job |

Been doing this a long time. I always have a bunch of builds going on - finishing them is the problem. I tend to get distracted very easily.

Slowly making progress, wiring is such a pain! Went with the sticky ripsaws ilo the badlands. Bead of the BL was a massive pain to get in the wheels...the Ripsaws fit perfect. Plus, I like the extra height. Electronics I'm cramming into the chassis.. got them in trimmed and soldered pretty much, just need a battery connector for the lipo. |

Full Vanquish trannys, upgraded aluminum links and a $35 servo with 133 oz/in of torque? |

That's correct. Good enough to get rolling, we'll see what happens later.

I think the ripsaws look awesome on this thing. I also like that you are not copying everything that every other person does to their XR10. Hope you have fun with this rig and can't wait to see how she turns out when completed. |

Wiring mess anyone? Good lord, I thought trying to hide the wiring on a scaler was tough. Runnable, just needs to be buttoned up... and somehow I'm still backwards on my chassis. |

Do you need the fan? One of the advantages of running a body is having a good hiding place for rats nests |
