Default Will the xr10 make a good "mini clod" monster truck?

I miss my clod monster truck, so I saw the xr was on sale and thought this would be a good opportunity to build a mini version of the old clod. I am looking at a stampede sized body with m2k mashers running 20-35 turned brushed motors on 3s. This is the parts list because this is what I have laying around minus the axles. So my question is would the xr still need all the upgrades I've been reading about just to romp around or will stock be ok? And lastly would a bully be a better set of axles for what I am looking to do. I don't want to do another clod as they end up be to big for what I want. And not interested in shaftys as all my trucks are shaftys now. I just remember how fun the moa was for monster truck style romping (like a wheelie king but handled much better).

really dont think the XR axles would hold up to the abuse. It would take quite a bit of money to make them take the abuse, you would be better off with some berg or bully axles.

i would go for the bullies. they are nearly bulletproof and are $150 new for both axles.
