Clocking the "C" hubs.

I see a lot of guys "clocking their front hubs.

First off let me say I have searched (clocking). Weeding thru all the BS and not describing what I need is such a waste.

Anyway.

1. Why clock the hubs?

2. Do you rotate the hubs forward - so you screw the hub into the axle in the rear slot OR do you rotate backwards and screw the hub into the front slot??

Back, no "BS"

You want to clock them Backwards which will give you positive caster. It has to do with the turning characteristics of the steering geometry. If you do a search for caster you will get better results. Here is a quick summary that explains the basics:

Caster, Camber, Toe

scroll down to "the effects of caster" & it will help you understand a bit. "thumbsup"

Caster is the angle to which the steering pivot axis is tilted forward or rearward from vertical, as viewed from the side. If the pivot axis is tilted backward (that is, the top pivot is positioned farther rearward than the bottom pivot), then the caster is positive; if it's tilted forward, then the caster is negative.

um says here positive...

I stand (sitting actually) corrected. It IS positive caster and I edited my reply. Thanks for pointing that out."thumbsup"
