Here is a link to the Socal Forum. 2012 Comp schedule is not up yet but if you look there is a thread that maps all the comp sites.
SoCal RC Rock Crawlers - SoCal's Premier RC Rock Crawling Site!

Good work on the crawler, and definitely looking forward to seeing more progress on the course. I like the incorporation of the slide

Well i burned out my HS 7950 th and went ahead and stepped up.to 600oz of pure tyrning power with the HS 7980!! This thing is a monster, it was a little big and took a few minor adjustments but fits the stock location very well with the stock platic mounts. I picked it up from Zoso at RCP Crawlers, those guys are great to work with and can point you in the right direction if any help is needed.

My house is in the woods with tons of rock. The rocks are spread out with huge boulders and it's so buggy. Your set up is awesome but Wow you live in snake country. I'll take my bugs lol.

Actually I get maybe a snake every couple years, dont get me wrong I know they are out there but rarely in the vicinity. On the other hand I HATE bugs.

I have 2 rattles from two near bites when I lived in Mississippi and at my family's home in New Mexico. Lol bugs are less likely to kill you.

Default "Fresh Juice"

Well i picked up some more parts from the guys at RCP CRAWLERS!!! Those guys are great, they can get you just about anything you need!!! I got a hold of some HH 35T torque experts, (which meant I could finally Use my new BWD motor skids), a Progress skid, Robotronics steering arm, a handful of misc bearings and a set of VP SLW hubs for an upcoming wheel purchase!!! As you can see in the pictures I did a little trimming to the BJV4 and BANG!!! I also used the existing BJ skid that I previously modified and slightly raised it up for the clearance needed by the link mounts on the progress skid. Ill make some new link end using traxuss Revo ends and do a slight bit of notching to clear the tail end of the skid aside from that this thing fits like a glove!! All it took was a slight reaming of the existing link mount holes on the chassis side plates. The rest was standard maintinance and replacment of some bearings before they prematurely failed, as well as installed some Axial Ti tranny shafts. I also shimmed my front CVD's and made a few link mount adjustments and clocked the front motor up also and not sure if I like the way its sidehilling now. A couple batteries on the rocks today should tell the reat of the story.
