Nah this cars too light for that metal crap! I do have one that can go on here, just not sure it needs it or not. Or which axle.

I got the front suspension sorted out.

On the rear I needed some longer lowers so I swapped them out to some longer Ti ones I got from Dlux a while back. The bends are perfect for this setup.

Some overall shots.

And I had to get one of the pair in progress.

Looking good!

How you getting to those compound bends on the rear lowers? I can do one plane pretty good but haven't tried a two plane bend like that. Tips, tricks?

What turn are the motors in the XR?

I think those are single plane bends, just leaned over. But to answer your question, you need to rig up a plane of bend indicator and clamp it to the piece so you have a reference point if you want to accurately reproduce multiplane bends. I have one for 1:1 tubework, but for this RC stuff, you could probably use something like an alligator clip?
This is an awesome build Shelby! Can't wait to see what you go with for wheels and tires. Also looking forward to feedback on the 16T 480's.

I would say the front axle. .125" space under the link mount, top hole on the axle and chassis.

Thanks guys! Yes im sick, yes the links are layed in a little, however, many people make compound bends. Though I have no clue how.

Hows this for an update. These should help keep this rig light on its feet.

So I had been hassling Krawl about making me some wheel faces so that I can hack up some SLW's and have a flat faced beadlocked wheel. However, he wanted to go lighter, and convinced me hacking up a perfectly good set of wheels was a bad idea.

So, we are running aluminum standoffs between two carbon rings. Just to clear a few things up:

THESE ARE NOT BEADLOCKS, THEY ARE NOT FOR SALE, THEY WERE MADE FOR FUN!!!

Krawl has been beating on his with no issues so far. We are used to gluing super tires so we thought we would try it on 2.2's.

They are very rigid with the aluminum hex standoffs.

Also wanted to share something I found while wiring these XR's.

I've seen people re shrink BEC's but never seen them remove the fiberglass board that goes around the cap on the older CC BEC's. Anyways, just thought I would share.
