Been running them since I built the truck because of size and cost. I run 45T's geared 15r/16f on 3S and am fairly rough on them.

After a run I can feel a little warmth on the bottom side of the skid plate from them. I tried 35T's once but felt a little more heat and no benefit so went back to 45's.

I did upgrade the 100uf stock capacitors to 1600uf ones from Radio Shack. Im not easy on the throttle when Im upside down or bumping over things. The upgrade was more for personal preference from running 3S.

Knock on wood but no problems as of yet.

what is the purpose of these capacitors and what is the benefit of going to the larger size

In racing we use them to help with load spikes to the battery. They charge while you drive (with in miliseconds basically) so when you let off the throttle then hammer down you pull the voltage out of the cap instead of putting the big amp draw on the battery.

In racing it helps with run time and esc/motor temps. In crawling, and what the esc's are really ment for, its to help give the esc what we're trying to make them do while staying cooler. The B1r's arent really ment for the 3S and motors we run so if I can give the esc's a little help I figure it wont hurt.

ok i see what ya mean, kinda like a fared capacitor in a car stereo system when subwoofers start hitting hard the capacitor helps with a little juice that it stored up so it doesn't drain on the system as bad - which makes things run hotter. got that part down, do i need to go with the 1600uf as you did and do ya have a part number for radio shack or some info on the ones you have like the volt, amp or any kind of specs, thanks.

I just went with 1600's out of habit and the ones I got were the same weight as the stock 100uf's.

1600uf@16v is all I know. Radio Shack has different ones in store but you could find a better selection through a real electronics place.

How are the dual b1r's working for ya. I'm thinking about running them in my super bully with 45's on 3s too.
