Front link? Or the screw that holds the link mount?

The screw that holds tje link mount doesnt tighten up fully flat because it hits the bearing

switch to a flat head screw, then trim the head to fit without contacting the gear. i just used a dremel and took off some so it cleared

Is it VP with RC4WD gears?
If so, grind the screw so that it clears the idle gear. It's pretty common.

It's a known issue...no big deal though as the guys above mentioned...just take a little off the head of the button head screw that was included with the motor plate so that the edges of the gear don't rub it.

Another thing you can do is to countersink the hole so you can use a flat head screw flush to the plate.
