http://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/...mg/7680190.jpg

I'm looking for a water jet or CNC guy ....to cut these out
the water jet guy I've been using cuts the aluminum fine...
but the CF just gets torn up....any solutions would be appreciated

I'll have the Aluminum version later this week

It's gonna be hard to find someone willing to laser cut carbon. Cnc mill/router is gonna be your best bet

X2! "thumbsup"

The manufacturer of our laser does'nt recommend cutting carbon fiber, something about toxic fumes.

sounds old school to me:ror:

all i know are equipped w. extraction units
because all the cutting fumes are toxic

short pulsed lasers like femtosec units will work
the pulsed laser reduces the backburn of the plastic matrix

some shops use laser cutters designed for FRP
they seal the cutting edge w. a plastik powder
it melts by the heat of the laser and fills the backburn area

That looks cool. I like the CF. Nice links ;) You should run it bodiless.

Both have their pros and cons. I see a lot of guys going back to bodies but it seems to be a trend more than a decision based on performance.

I like the body for ease of maintenance and righting yourself when turtled out but the bodyless keeps the COG a little lower, you can see whats working and whats not and theres less to bind you up in a tight spot. As I said...pros and cons. I wouldn't choose one over the other based on who's running what but keep it performance and personal preference based.
