Default What drag link to use with VP knuckles?

I'm having problems figuring out what length drag link to use with the VP knuckles. I can't get full travel, lock to lock on the steering. It will either go all the way left or all the way right if I lengthen/shorten the drag link. If it helps I have VP C-hubs/knuckles, Robitronics servo horn, Chaotic crawlers straight steering link, Axial machined lower links, and Chaotic Crawler Ti-uppers.
The motor is clocked fairly high with the combination of links. I was trying to add more caster the C's, but that compounds the problems even further. What are the common mods done to make all these things work together? If any body could give me some measurements for the drag link or post some pictures that would be very helpful.
Thanks

what side is your servo arm on? I have mine closest to the wheel and my link is 40mm to the center of each hole if that makes sense, sorry too early yet and no coffee. I'm using a robitronic long servo arm at the bottom hole.

I have my servo arm on the side closest to the link mount and the link is 56 mm eye to eye. I am also using the long robitronic arm with the link mounted on the bottom hole. With your steering set up that way, you are able to get full travel of the steering in both directions? Is there an advantage to having the servo arm closer to the wheel?
Thanks

The servo will not get in the way as much.

dumb question here but you did cut the piece for the link slider out on the back of the axle case rite? Also check if the rod end is hitting the servo preventing it from going to full lock, when I had mine situated the way yours was I had to have the servo arm a little more in the center of the vehicle and had to have a longer drag link at straight wheels as when I turned to the right the rod end would hang up on the servo case preventing it from reaching full lock.

Krawler23, that makes sense. rjsl59, yes I did remove the slider cover and yes the rod end does hit the servo preventing it from going to full lock in one direction. I will try and flip the servo and make a shorter link when I get home from work today. Do either one of you have your C's clocked futher than the stock holes will allow? I was also trying to add more caster, but matye I should just get it to steer properly before I try and do more mods.
Thanks for the help

mine are forward but in the stock location, I use a revo and an long ofna end for mine and it is the perfect length. After I get this rig together and test some more I may mod them but they seem fine for now. servo and arm was just for mock up, have a 7954 and a robitronic on there now

I have the same servo and arm on mine. I'll stop by the lhs at lunch and pick up some rod ends.

the servo arm is turned a little to the right side with the wheels straight so the rod end wont hit the servo when turning left.

I would suggest using a Revo rod end and a Jato rod end.
this setup will put your servo arm almost vertical and give you more even throw in both directions.

you either dont have the servo centered or there is something binding..
flip the servo so the arm is closest to wheel.
take the horn off.
power up the car.
set your trim to zero
power off the car.
put the arm on so its facing directly down.
put a revo/jato rod end together and screw them on the horn and arm..
set your end points.
done

ok, I flipped the servo, recycled a stock steering link(lhs never has anything I need), set the end points, and re~installed the servo arm. I get pretty decent/even travel in both directions. The tire now hits the servo at full lock. I have the vanquish servo armor and that is what now prevents me from getting any futher travel in the steering.
rjsl59, what is that aluminum part under your servo?
