So I bought this xr10 kit off fleabay and I'm trying to setup the 4 links. I believe it came with a high rise type. My suspension seems way off. Can you guys help me? Here is what it looks like:

Looks like your front uppers are too long. Can't tell what the rear is doing.

I think the links are switched. The lowers should be on top and the uppers moved to the lowers. That is the way the stock ones were on mine according to the instructions.

Maybe... What's the wheelbase?

look at the negative caster yeah i would say the uppers are to long. the lowers i would turn them so the 30 bend is closer to the chassis side. and check the wheelbase as it will be the determining factor of which links are wrong.

pics of the rear:

The distance from axle to axle is 12.25 inches. I was thinking those top links are too long also.

Looks like uppers are too long. Sort that out and you should be good to go.

The rear actually doesn't look that bad. looks like the motor is tucked nicely up out of the way. As long as there's no binding in the rear, I'd just concentrate on getting the front right.

What's your wheelbase after using the longer links as lowers?

You'r a little over the 12.5" WB limit for comps. I suppose if you aren't gonna comp, it's not the end of the world. If you ever want to comp though you'll need to get that WB in check. The lower links set your WB and your uppers can be used to adjust the angle of your axles. Of course the links do a lot more than just that, but we're not talking about 4 link geometry here.

You might be able to use some shorter rod ends to shrink the WB too. There's lots of options.

Have fun, rig looks good.

Thanks! I'm not planning on competing, but who knows.

New problem (I started a thread in the electronics section). My motors will not turn on! I have brushed motors with a mamba mx pro and a punkrc dig.

I replied to the other thread.......

For this thread, as already mentioned, you REALLY want the caster angle to have the tops of the knuckle to be towards the rear of the rig.
This is for clearance reasons as well as driving reasons. Some refer to this as "clocking".

Whether you comp or not, get your set-up correct so you can practice with a legal rig. Not much sucks worse than having a "great rig" only to get "DQ'd" for a rule.
It also allows a better "apples to apples" comparison.

[as to not "turning on" your motors......maybe a few strokes, roses, whisper in the ear and an indecent offer will help.............]

With the link issue fixed, how is the kingpin angle now?? Before, the top was forward, not the best for crawling, it really should be back as far as it was forward in the early pictures.

Were the top links made or boughten or do you know? I originally had the axial stg3 links and all was good. Do you have any link measurements? I have my old set sitting here...
