I would say just drive it and have fun. Many will say you need to upgrade gears and bearings but im using 35t's and im still good, plus you are using 60t's which are a lot easier on the gears. Have fun!

Drive and learn the truck. As you realize there's a problem, address that problem.

I like the just run it idea.... but I have been looking at the HH armatures as maybey a cheap upgrade looks like I could get a pair of hand wound for around 60 bucks has anybody used these and is 45t to 55t the norm ? I went 60t because I was just going to run the single esc but now that I have a dual set up might have to bring em down a little

45t on 3s is a great starting combo.

I agree ...and 45t might be the limit for stock gears....just drive it for awhile and enjoy it....you have plenty of time to upgrade...

I upgraded my gears out of the box because I didn't want to be half way through a run and bust them or strip a gear and risk tearing up my case. I upgraded to rc4wd gears and I love them

from what I read its the bearings that cause problems. when they fail all the little balls go into gear case and trash the gears.... so not sure if I want to upgrade the bearings first or the gears or maybey just do both after the stockers fail
