Congrats you will love the xr10 I run tekin 45t axial recommends 45t or higher motors in their book. I've never used the Novak but I'm sure it will run them no problems, integy motors are good motors if you don't want to spend a lot on your xr then I suggest you getting those just in either a 45t or 55t. Also if you plan on using the dig I recommend the spektrum dx3e it's a good radio for a low price and comes with a receiver. Good luck to you!

welcome to your new addiction!

i would stay away from novak m2 dig esc...
i had one, tried to make it work(@2months) and never could get it right.

search the electronics section on "m2 dig " you'll see..

i would suggest a mambamax esc or an HH brxl esc and
a "punk" dig control.

x2 on this.

I would run 35t motors on a 3s Lipo, I ran 45's and they worked good but the punch just wasn't there. I had Tekins, and I have switched to Holmes, but for the money the Integy motors are not bad.....if your on a budget..

Where would I order the HH or punk stuff from in Canada etc? Thanks again.. Oh and with those motors what do you recommend for lipo's? 2s or 3s? Not looking for huge punch but more runtime etc?

I say an 1100mah 3s out on the front axle will probably give you around 20-ish min of run time.

Spend the $20 for a star so you have access to the classified section here (and support the site!), I see Punk digs for $30-$50 all the time there. I ran Novak 45t's in mine for awhile and they worked fine.

go to hobbypartz.com buy 4 or 5 batteries. in a comp crawler you really want to keep weight down and smaller batteries are an easy way to do it. i run the sky lipo 800mah 3s packs and in my ax10 get around 20-25 minutes of run time per pack. okjeepin runs the same batts in his xr and gets around the same runtimes. at $6 apiece for batteries it won't break the bank!

Maybe, but it seems to me alot of guys from the US are only interested in shipping to the US.

800 mah batteries fit real nice in the XR10, larger packs like 1100-1200 are a tight fit.

I'm using Hobbyking 350mah 3S 100+C for comps and they are the ticket, about 8 to 10 minutes with a low profile that doesn't rub the tire at full lock. The 850mah 3S fits but with wheel rub at full lock, however, you get about 20 minutes out of it.

I'm using 2 HH 35T motors with dual FXRs and CC BEC @ 7.2V on a BJ4 chassis. The battery mount is a Rowdy topless.

I use a 1300mah 3s skylipo in the chassis. It is a little tight but fits, i get around 30-35 mins.

I run MaxAmps.com 3S LiFe packs (1050 mah) and get 65-75 min run time with 55T motors. No idea of run time on 35-45T motors. They handle 3x the number of charge cycles as a LiPo (1,000 cycles), will not catch fire, will charge at 15C, don't require low voltage cutoff, and can kick out some serious current if you want it. And it tucks into the chassis just fine. I keep mine up front between the front upper links.

I've been using a Punk Dig 3D since the XR came out and the dig unit hasn't given me a single problem. It's a tank. I'm not sure what else has come out in the past year or two, but were I in need of another dig, I'd go right back to a Punk.
