I believe it is supposed to increase the rigidity of the rear axle housing

And it's smaller so less hang ups on it. I know more than one person not running a rear brace at all and seem to do fine.

Low and behold it even happens when your on all 4 wheels. I've had that stupid brace scrape/hang on rocks pulling up verts or working through some rip rap more than just a few times. Than again maybe I just play on harder lines.  |

I've been running mine for more than a year with no brace and no popping. I do have VP axle halves though..  |
