Default newbie to a xr10

i just got this rig in a trade from a member on here and i have never had a xr10 and have never driven one or messed with one so i know nothing about it..

Well if the previous owner has gone to all that trouble it's a good bet the gearbox has had some TLC too

i have a set of traxxas big bores with the cap mod with mini cups that i will putting on it and will be putting some vp goodies on it anything i need to tackle first on the upgrades?

This is what I was saying, the obvious upgrades might already have been done i.e. inside the gearbox, upsizing the 8mm bearings, shimming the main gear etc.

Hey a new crawler in TN. If your interested in comping look up ETRC on here. We run comps and gtgs almost all year long. Great bunch of guys.

Good looking truck btw. I would definitely look in the gear boxes to see what you have. If they used the stock grease it has probably liquified and needs replaced anyway.

Thanks for info I have a ax10 fully built with all vp stuff including the chassis I'll look into the comp I've never done a comp or drove a rig with dig so alot of training is in the near future and alot of questions for y'all

Any advice or comments is greatly needed. I do not think this rig has any upgrades to the gearbox

You will want to take care of that, bigger bearings and traxxas bushings should help you out. Some rc4wd gears are nice too.

on the vp bronze bushing kit do i need 2 kits or just one?

you'll need 2 but you can go with a cheaper solution : Traxxas #3775 !

i just ordered vp motor plates from rpp i had a credit sso i went ahead and put in for these. question about the vp bushing what are they for and where do they go?

finally got this thing in the mail today im so excited. i tried it out and i got to say this thing is awesome love the dig...already been changing it up to fit me...heres a few pics...

changed to roof and hood panels..











also changed out the stock shocks to big bores with mini t's with the cap mod...changed the wheels out


took the blue panels off and put some carbon fiber panels back on to cover up the electronics..






any comments are welcome
