Looks good, flip your servo though it will help with clearance a lot.

I just realized auto correct owned me on the title. Maybe a mod can fix it. Thanks for the tip on the servo I'll swap it.

A revo and jato end work great for the shorter arm, btw you can change the title yourself I can't remember exactly but I think you click Edit on your post and then change it

Guess I learned another trick I figured the title out. I've been pouring over the tips and tricks as well as Harley's thread but I still will take all the advice I can get on it. I've been out of the rc game for about 8 years and before that I was only worried about lap times and pit stops, not finding clean lines up the sides of rocks.

I had the hardest time figuring out your title. Makes sense now. Make sure you look at Bender's XR-10 thread as well. Less bling, more function. Or equal to function, but with less bling. Smart build. |

I ordered the FXRs with the tekin 35 turn motors for now I'll upgrade later. Bender's build is one I subscribed to as well.

I started looking at Brood motors last night and even after reading the descriptions and explanations on their site I'm lost as to what motors I'll want to upgrade to when the time comes. What series of their motors does the XR10 like? I've got Tekin 35 turns coming with my FXRs and don't know if Broods more powerful 35 turns will be too much.

I'm running Holmes Hobbies torquemaster 45t's and love them. Plenty fast enough for jumping the occasional gap, and they have tons of torque. As far as "bling" goes, I can't drive worth a crap so I might as well look good! Maybe I need to bling out my skid plate seeing how my XR spends most of its time on its back.... |

I am running the matching Brood Apocalypse*S-HHK 35T and love them. The low crawling is so smooth. It has plenty of power to break something! I had Holmes torquemasters 35T and I loved them but the startup on the motors was a little rough for me. Nothing against Holmes, great motor. It just seemed that the demand was so high that every time I tried to order the motor I wanted it was out of stock. | |

Looking at Eddie chiming in on other's threads was why I started looking at his motors, I saw someone who wanted to get you the best product he can. I have looked at Holmes and like you said they're always out of stock it seems. I'll email Eddie when I'm ready to upgrade.

im running Broods Apocalypse HHK 35t also. love them. As stated before, give him a email and he will respond with what he would suggest. We emailed back and forth for at least a week before i got what i was looking for. What i was looking to get originally, he told me i would just break parts since im a Noob. He definitely wants you to be happy and have fun without costing you parts all day long. great service...

Here are a few updates. I got my esc's wired in and my radio and bec in as well. I have several LiPo packs and a charger headed here this week. I did zip tie a stick pack to the top of it just so I could drive it though. Even with a poor cog I was still very impressed with the things it conquered that my SCX10 was unable to go over. I plan to tuck the wiring a little better and play with the layout of the electronics some. I will probably end up with a RR axle battery mount. For now here are some pics. (Excuse the cluttered work space it's a one car garage with a mustang fishing kayaks BBQ equipment and a lifetime worth of RC stuff stacked in it.) Last edited by svt_adam; 05-14-2012 at 09:41 PM. |

The Tekin HD 35T's are pretty wickid motors on 3s and zero cog low speed creep. I just started running the Tekins and at $120 per fxr combo at tower with the coupon $240. Shipped. Here's a video I made yeserday. Xr10 Comp Crawler - YouTube |

These seem to work ok but a set of broods is on the list for when it's time to get serious about comps.
