Default rc4wd gear issue

i know this is just a newbie moa issue but i am putting in my rc4wd gears and the gear under the top link mount is against the plastic and got everything jammed up what have i done wrong?....vp motor plate vp upper link mount and tranny cases..

you need a bearing on the end of the shaft in the 2nd pic...

It looks like you're assembling things in the wrong order. The end of that gear shaft needs a bearing or bushing on it and you won't get the link mount mounted with everything else bolted together. The link mount needs to be screwed to the motor plate before anything else. Do that and things should fall into place nicely.

You need to either grind done the screw head that attaches the motor plate to the upper link mount or countersink the hole and use a flathead screw. The RC4WD gears are wider than the stock gears and it is binding on the screw.

Also ditch the tiny bearing and use a 5x8mm bushing under the upper link mount. Either a Traxxas or Tamiya bushing will do.
