Default Toe in or out ?

Do you run toe in or toe out ?
Can you give pros and cons for either ?
What r your measurements eye to eye for a straight tie rod with VP knuckles clocked all the way back ?
Cheers

I usually run a small amount of toe out or no toe for hair sharper steering. For a crawler there is no point of toe in. With go fasts toe in helps it drive straighter and toe out allows it to turn sharper while sacrificing how well it handles going straight.

I would always run a little toe out given the choice.

I thought that toe out would help to pull the rig round because of locked diffs meaning that zero ackerman would just try and just push the outside wheel in a straight line reducing the turning circle.
Toe in would just make this problem worse.

Unless I am wrong this is the reason that 1:1 cars have differentials so that the steering can be setup at zero ackerman.

You could try searching for the eye to eye measurement you want

For racing or "handling" vehicles, toe in provides better stability in straight lines at speed. Toe out makes it feel more "twitchy" or unstable at speed, but helps with initial turn-in. Toe in numbs the responsiveness of turn-in. Finding a balance between the two is where the tuning comes in.

For Crawlers, I want the contact patch only to be pushed around by the terrain. Toe in or out will slowly move the tire carcass inward (toe in) or outward (toe out) causing the contact patch to shift. Sometimes to your advantage, but typically not. It just makes it inconsistent. This is especially true on those delicate climbs where the contact patch is barely holding on as-is.

This is purely my observation and train of thought. Others will view this differently.
