Default XR10 build plans

I really didn't want to start a build thread simply because there already so many of them, but since this is my first crawler build I want to keep track of It's progression. Any advice would also be appreciated as well!! As soon as the on order parts come in the build will start!

So here is what I have so far.
XR10 kit
Futaba 4PL
2x micro sidewinders (on order)
2x Tekin 35 turn (on order)
Hitech 7955 servo
Sedona tires (on order)
Rc4wd gears for both transmissions (on order)

Sounds like a good setup, have you given any thought to some high clearance links? I have heard that they make a big difference

Welcome! Looks like you got a pretty decent start there. One thing to look into before you go and mount up tires are some Crawler Innovations Double Deuce foams. Can't go wrong with them. Also a Castle BEC. Lots of info on here and a ton of different tips and tricks. Can't wait to see how your rig turns out.

Great items to start with! Don't forget the Castle BEC to use with the 7955. Sounds exactly like what I'm starting with as well.

Chaotic Crawlers has nice titanium link sets too! Check em out...

Blue Monkey has some great. I had his links on my XR10 and I was very pleased. Great machine work and awesome clearance.

That's basically what I've been running for a little over six months now and it has worked well. As mentioned before a BEC is a must and replacing the stock links is well worth the money. I also went with the RC4WD bearing plate(VP one is another good choice) and a traxxas bushing on the top shaft. Shaving the sadonas and some drive time will help soften them up but over all they work well. Great start good luck

Looking good. I like the red paint. A little trick though. Keep your servo mounted like you have it in the first pic with the horn towards the wheel. That will keep it out of harms way a little better. You can take two Revo rod ends and a 4mm rod thread and put them together for the steering link.
