Hittman's SMASH Build I figured its about time for me to put up a thread so here it is. This rig is freshly built for the new comp season. Last year I comped only with a sporty so its a pretty big change for me. I am one of those people who is not happy till I have all the fancy or best stuff, so granted this is a very expensive build, but its what I like. When building the rig I had purchased the T1e sniper, but was just not happy with the looks and set up options, so with consideration of options I decided to go with the switch. So far I am very happy with it. My club had our first comp of the season this past Sunday and I placed 2nd. Which, considering that I had 20minutes of run time prior to the comp, I am happy. All my set ups are based on what I see the Chaotic drivers use, as well as some of what I like mixed in. Here are the specs... Axles: VP wraith knuckles VP c's VP upper front link mounts front and rear VP trans cases VP motor plates (rear drilled for lw) VP vvd's NCD steering kit NCD knuckle weights NCD front battery mount NCD electronics mount Mix of stock and Axial lw gears Axial front case fr and rr Boca ceramic bearings Egressor custom 5mm TI rear shafts ( Allows use of wraith lockout and front case ) Chassis/ Suspension: Chaotic SWITCH Chaotic Switch/Special lowers Custom 4mm carbon upper made by me Scx shocks (35wt oil, silver mrc springs fr/rr, Sniper Fab spring cups) Sniper Fab delrin link sliders Electronics: Holmes Custom 32t lw motors Futaba BLS157 Dual sidewinder micros CC bec Futaba 2106 rx Maxamps 430mah 3s lipos Tires/wheels: Custom NCD carbon wheels Lw Vanquish hubs Boss claws Pitbull dual stage foam up front/ narrowed stock foam with 5" CI soft tuning ring rear Misc... There really isnt anything that I feel I need to change right away. All that needs to improve is the driver... Thanks for looking"thumbsup" |
Re: Hittman's SWITCH build Looks really clean mate  I dig Tomy's electronics mount "thumbsup" what is on the battery in the 1st picture? |
Re: Hittman's SWITCH build Quote:
And its a rubber O-ring. I use them to hold down my battery. They actually work really good, and i dont use any velcro at all. |
Re: Hittman's SWITCH build Yes I can see it :ror: But in the second pictures the sticker on your battery looked like some kind of an electronic device wrapped in clear shrink tape:lmao: It 's 2am here I guess it's time to go to bed :ror: |
Re: Hittman's SWITCH build Very nice my friend. I am especially curious about those straight uppers. Is that just carbon rod glued into revo rod ends? With some testing you may want to try moving the front upper at the chassis up 1 hole. Watch those brushes on the motors being unprotected, I ran like that last year and destroyed all my bottom brushes, bwd motor saver is awesome for curing that problem. Im looking very forward to some running pics or video. Congrats on second place with no testing done, thats pretty awesome"thumbsup" |
Re: Hittman's SWITCH build Looks awesome Bro... Are those Freq-e-skinz that you cut up for the panels? Or were they made for the switch? And BTW you glad I told you to run the BLS157? |

Re: Hittman's SWITCH build Quote:
Unlike the 7950 an 7980 I tried talking you into.. *flipoff* I cant wait to test my 7980 out, now that I took the 7950 off, myself... Doin a little tear down an regrease, with some refined graphite based gear grease, an motor cleaning, before I put it all back together an the new servo on.. |
Re: Hittman's SWITCH build rig looks killer man an glad you like it . marc an nick did a hell of a job on this chasis |
