Re: build advice you got a great list of parts but i would step up the game on the motors ....spend a bit more on them and get a better quality motors for your build but the rest of the stuff looks great for a start |
Re: build advice I will upgrade to Holmes hobbies if I like the rc since this will be my first crawler so I don't know if I will like it And how hard will this controller be to setup and will it work decently TowerHobbies.com | Tactic TTX600 6Ch SLT 2.4GHz Radio System No Servos |
Re: build advice That's a great start, but like scorpion said, you'll want to get some better motors. Holmes Hobbies and Team Brood make some awesome motors that won't break the bank.... for batteries, Gens Ace makes some 450mah 3s lipos that are $4 a pop :) GENS ACE 450mAh 25C 11.1V lipo battery pack Eventually you'll want to get some RC4wd gears in the near future and VP goodness eventually. |

Re: build advice Alright for my operation should I get the gt3b or gt3c I probably want the gt3b since I can get it 8 channels or 6 can anyone point me in the direction for that and batteries I was looking at gems ace 450 mah3s but what else and which of the gt3 controllers are better |
Re: build advice I stand by Nano-tech lipo's.. I also run 2 of the gen aces.. they work good too. If ur doin dual esc, I think the c is better for dual esc. |
Re: build advice I have that exact same RX...... for my airplane. Not for crawlers. The GT3B is the better of the 2..... but you always get what pay for, I have a Futaba 4PL. I had a GT3B take a shit on me mid comp. I was out of town at the time and it ruined my weekend. Had my Futaba for a yr now and it hasn't let me down at all. Go to hobbypartz.com and they have cheap Lipos. I run Brood 3S and I absolutely love them. |
Re: build advice Alright is their any other stick controllers out their that will work cause I don't mind the stick controller but the gt3b on overkill its 50.00 pre hacked is that ready to go pre hacked with 8channels or what and when I chose like extra reciever the price don't go up any why is that |
Re: build advice If you decide to go with the.Futaba radio, Harley has you covered. He is the master with these radios. He has links in the electronics section. I use a Futaba 4pk myself and have no complaints. The 4pl is also a great radio and is less.$$. Batteries I use are Skylipo 800mah 40c 3 cell from Hobbpartz, great batteries and price. Good ."thumbsup" |
Re: build advice Everything looks great... better motors and for the radio you can use anything that has a 3 position switch for the third channel. I also use the 3s Sky Lipos and they work great from hobbypartz.com... the next upgrade would definently need to be gears, those stock ones go out pretty quick under a load, but it will be a great way to get started"thumbsup" |
Re: build advice i run turnigy nanotech's 850mah 3s from hobbyking love them |
Re: build advice Good setup to start with!, but like someone else mentioned you will want to get the RC4WD gears as soon as you can, and maybe some VP motor plates! |
