I asked the same question a little while ago, but I had already fit it. I used an older bec without the capacitor on the end. I made sure the blank fiberglass board was facing toward the motor. I did have to desolder and resolder the power wires to point the wires up toward the servo and I had the reciever wire wrapped back through the shrink tube going out with the power wires. I did cut the original blue shrink tube and redid it after the work. It was a really tight fit between the axle and the motor. I don't have any pics at the moment, but I will be tearing my front axle apart to find a blown bearing from Nats. lol |

Cutting the cap or having an old one is the best. When I had my Xr I did this mod it was called the jeep kid bec mod like over 2 years ago |

I also removed the top board from cc bec.. Its held only by some thermal tape on to the regulator and tight fitting hole onto the little cap on other end. On top board there is little piece of aluminium tape supposed to act as heat sink.. but I think mine could be more efficient About beer can thicness aluminium glued with 2-compound thermal glue. That extra tab wraps around the stock "servo plate", and added 2 little drops of CA to the ends of bec. I`ll try to remember to take more pics of it installed when I take the servo off next time.. |
