"It's about time you got a Grown Up rig.":lmao: Plus I got tired of stuff breaking!!!! Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild Well. What the hell are ya gonna do to it? |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild As you can see the first upgrade was the front axle battery mount. I tried to make my own and mount it to the VP front link mount. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...psb6b7ad68.jpg 3 Problems with that: 1st-It broke off after a few comps. 2nd-Because I made it.:ror: 3rd-Having it mounted to the front link mount. The battery weight would flop around and loosen the mount, then having chance for the screws to walk out into the gears. So finally I kicked myself in the azz and got a Rowdy Racing battery mount. Waaaaay better and slick as shizzz."thumbsup" http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps086254c5.jpg Then I got tired of bending rear axles, so I got my rear in gear and purchased some CBRB Custom Titanium Axles Shafts. They needed a little griding to get them to sit cherry, soooooo worth it. Light, tight and strong. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...psf75bcff1.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps2e099bec.jpg |

Can't blow my wad all at once. |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild Body mounts. I had to call the Fire Dept. because I kept on getting burned with them.:ror: The coder pin system finally had to go. I'm going down through this gate, happened to me twice on 2 different courses. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps57e6d2ec.jpg Got a nicer nylon set up now."thumbsup" http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps29b434e2.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps6c578cbc.jpg |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild Looking good Bryce! "thumbsup" |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild Looking good, where dem fancy new tares? |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild Quote:
Well I'm currently running DH's in the front with no extra weight. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps3450334a.jpg Now with my fancy new"tares" Voodoos baby! http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...psdf2a940b.jpg I will also be running the RCbros knuckle weight setup as well Lattice Innovations shift hubs from BC-Brain. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...psee4e236b.jpg Now I will be shaving 4.5 oz from the front. Been hearing that these tires like a light rig. I will give the lighter setup a try. But I enjoy the current weight of my rig including the lipo. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...pseac3fce7.jpg |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild I forgot. The rear wheels/tires are basically the same, so that's nice. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps748bf02d.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps8f39f43d.jpg |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild Interested to see how you like the VooDoo's going from Rovers. Nice looking hubs BTW "thumbsup". |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild So does that mean we will see ya at the next comp? Your truck looks good. Tell me how the Vodoo tires work. |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild How was your weight bias before doing all of this? It looks like your are losing 4.5oz from the FRONT but your rear tires are going to weigh the same as your old ones? You going to be able to shed that same 4.5oz from the rear that you did from the front to keep your bias? Either way I hope you come to the comp Saturday and try her out. On a side note I kinda liked watching the body fly all over the place. "thumbsup" |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild Im with Jimmy on this one. Wonderin where that bias is gonna be. GOTSTA roll diss weekend...Curious to see how those shoes work on the big boy rocks of...THE BUTTES!!! Congrats on the snazzy new sponsor BTW. See? They're not payin you in gum like you've been wishin but sticky icky toh-errz taint bad. Taint bad atall. "thumbsup" JD |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild Is that Elvis or KD Lang? |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild 60/40 bias. That's what the Secret Agent was built for. Edited the first post and noticed I didn't have the chassis correct. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps7f44f6bc.jpg Still not quite finished with the final set up. Still need some hardware to button it all up. Here are some shots of the tires mounted. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps126e64b0.jpg The shift hubs and knuckle weights. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...psb7dbbbc4.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps9a5493ec.jpg I'm trying to get it finished for this weekend, but its going to be tight. Might see a semi different setup just so I can run. But the tires will still be with me. |
Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild Looking really nice Bryce! |

Re: Frankenwheely's XR10 ReBuild The bias after the new set up. Not too bad. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps634e97a8.jpg Got the hardware. If I find time, will try a test run before the comp Saturday. Fingers crossed. |
