ZZR's...now it's a REMEDY 3.5

Hello guys,

i would like to show you the brand new chassie CK Reptile which i got one week before the biggest comp in Europa "Supercrawl 2013" started.

it was certainly a big risk to change the chassie yet so close to the most important event in our country, but it has worked so well from the first minute that I just had to try...And it works - i'm able to make the 5. after quali and the 7. after shotout in final.

the most important is the slightly elevated Skidplatte but in practice some brint. You can go low and still has the ground clearance that you sometimes can not compensate by technology.

Inside the rig are:
micro sidewinder
team brood KR 30t motors - team edition
NCD - nuckle weight system
homemade titanaxle made from a friend in the rear
hitec 7950
Homemade Carbon gearplates made from a friend
Homemade lightweight hubs made from a friend

now i'm still looking forward for some new wheels from Nordic Crawler Design and 500 Pullerīs from Mr. Holmes

Hi Stephan.

What rear shocks are you running? It looks similar to SCX10 but the shock caps are different...

Cool collection of pics. Chassis looks like shes workin well for ya.

x2 on the shock caps. Im assuming the same cat that made your axles maybe turned out some nice aluminum caps for the SCX bodies?

@curcal
It's SDS 300 HD's with 70 degree

@rofu
Hi Team Sweden - that's the EGRESSor houses - they are dry and not licking like the SCX dampers

@HARDKNOCKZ
Thx and nice that you like. Yes the chassie works great for me.The caps are from cheap set of dampers. A friend of Mine modified them for me, but i don't know the Name now - i can't remember. If you want to know I will ask him for you.

I have these cap on the damper to compensate the mass. Otherwise he would not be very steep rear mounted high enough or the dampers have to stand precipitously, but i don't like these.

I'm curios to see how well the three post point mounting will hold up, I've seen four but not three. Also curious how it effects your foams!

you mustīt wonder about the three spacer. A lot of my friends and myself use the three spacer system since half to one year or longer and there is no differenz to feel to 4, 5 or 6 and no effect to the foams as well. Bevor i used this system i thought the same like you think now, but nothing happens...only lighter...

But iīm curios by myself about the 1.5mm slices at the rear...if they will brake i have to change to the 2.0. thatīs the reason why i ordered 2 slices of 2.0 extra from tomy.

1.5mm is ok for Wheels.... i run 1/16" for over 2 years on my , and for 1 Year on my Superclass.....

I think in the German Crawl spots there is no Problem with a 3 Bar, but in the high mountains and in some of the US Spots i know, they won't hold up longtime after a tumble down ..... a tumble down can also kill VP wheels.... remember Vegas 2011......

i`m at 20g with a 5bar wheel 3 piece designe and VP 475 hub mounted on with all screws and i think i can loose another 1-2 g on each wheel with my new standoffs

perhaps here you could buy. Write a e-mail to the company and ask how much to order for shipping to USA. Perhaps you will have luck, but normally he only sent to europe. But try...
Perhaps you need ceramic ball beaarings also, because he is specialized in bearings and the cheapest one i know, two(in europe and perhaps in the world:ror:).

istīs not really extremely light, but good balanced for my drivingstyle. In the video i drove:

1688 g
+110 g for both side nuckleweights
+44 g Aku

with the new NCD-Wheels itīs
1810 g RTR

...but today i got some thing to go to the next level and about 90-100g will falling down:twisted:

Yesterday was the next comp in the eastside of my country. Unfortunately, there was little problems in the beginning. A night before the comp i have to change the servo because the old one was gone to the end one day before.

The next big problem i had on the first course. the frontmotor stopped working before i could clear gate 5. i have to do a outside repair. A friend of mine(Big Thx to Timo!!!!!) find out, that the winding of the Motor was damaged. I think the Old motors heard that them should be exchanged and thanked on the course for these. that's the reason why i have to build in the brand new holmes at the compside to have the chance to finish the comp. And what could i say - they work really great and i' m able to do the third place.

Thanks for compliment about the work at Supercrawl with the "reptile". I tried my best, but your friends from Finland were simply superior in the final and probably my person a little bit to nervous. But was very satisfied with the overall performance, especially considering the fact that I only perform crawling for one year now.

With the design selection of rims I've really been looking for a very long time until I'm finally able to find in your Tread. Important was light and stiff and your wheeldesign is definitely both. I also looked out for a design which was similar to the coat of arms of the "isle of man" which i visited in the Year 2000 with my motorbike - it shows three leg's...

The motors are 30T. I drove one year the team motors with KR-four maget cans from brood with 30t also inside, but the new ones from john works very different to them.

Oz Bruiser 06-21-2013 09:13 PM

In glad you like the design and it suited the design them of The Isle of Man. The guys from Finland are driving very strong at the monent. I need more drive time myself. Im keen to watch jow this build develops for you too. Good luck in future events :)

Yes, that's thrue, but the reason why i drive these chassie is - it works great, especially with the higher skidplate.

since the car in the rear now has about 60g less weight, I wanted to try to reduce the weight in front also. Did the test run in the night performed, because It was to hot for me in the day and I drive at night anyway actually very pleasant ...only the stones, the rig and you - nothing else more...good for setup tests

The test run was even better than I thought. It's really impressive where you come up everywhere. Just be aware with fast movements, otherwise it makes a departure by the lack of weight forward. I have to test the next days if it works fine, or i still have to put some weight at the front back...we will see

I am pleased that you like the Reptile and for shure the lower links close to the upper links. But it works perfekt on the rocks for me. The crawler slides for this reason wonderful on edge before the rear wheels ensure the continued advance.I tried links with a little more distance between the lower and the upper links but i did't like so much. I think it depends on driving style, whether like it or not.

At the Super Crawl I became aware of laalaa's skinny rovers. He told me that he had more grip, better steering and less weight than conventional tires. The idea to implement this too, no longer let myself go since. After I had installed my new engine I knew that I had to have. The main argument for me was to reduce weight at the rear. I asked a friend ,namely "Highfly", for help. He is known for as a good producer of super tires. The reason why he made these tires for me was that he also think a long time before to make some smaller 2.2 tires for himself. A Big thx to Tom for making the tires for me and Lasse for the great idea!!! After I got the beautiful parts two days ago, i drove yesterday a little fun comp with that tires. My result was very bad, but it was a good chance for the testing in Comp situation before the nats in france. I think it's a hard work to choose the right foamsetup. Perhaps crawler innovation could help me. Also now i have to test how much weight i need in front. The shockoil and perhaps the springs i think i have to change also with these new setup. Now i have to test two weeks and then i will see what happens at the biggest Comp in France - the BIG.

We do the same size like boss claws, because perhaps we could switch between the tires. I think i would also like to try Bossi's in front and lightweight skinny rovers in the rear.

Like already told, just take your time to get familier with your new setup. Think also about you have to break in the rovers To get them working. I really liked the "featherlight" dynamic of your rig to get up that little rock @ Timo's place.

Perhaps one day, I have to get a new toy....
