You guys are crazy. It's a comp rig, not a boat! Haha. It's not worth the hassle to disassemble the axles and re-grease. Two things I own that I keep away from water, my phone and my crawler. I don't even like to drive my Slashes in wet grass. They may be considered waterproof, but waterproof and water resistant are two different things. Still gotta deal with bearings and whatnot.

You use a marine grade grease so you don't have to worry about re-greasing your axles. Also use sealed bearings takes care of that problem. After a day of playing submarine WD-40 things down and use a air compressor to blow it off and you're good to go. It's really not that big of a deal. If we were afraid of water we would only crawl three months out of the year.

Its good fun! Between the snow in the winter and the general wetness the rest of the year if I didn't waterproof everything I wouldn't get much chance to run my junk. When I lived in AZ I was scared of the water. After I moved here I began to embrace it. It adds a new dimension. My wraith will throw huge rooster tails when the tires are underwater. I looks pretty awesome.

I use my phone in the shower too but I has factory conformal coating.

Overdue for an update on my XR! This poor rig has been down for months. Mainly due to me not taking initiative... But also to my horrible luck with soldering my electronics! I have been working on doing a very compact and water resistant set-up, and I keep letting smoke out of things... I am currently waiting for the Holmes BR mini's to get back in stock. But I did just get a new chassis for this thanks to RcBros!!! Thank you again Will for listening to my suggestions on this beast!

How to solder correctly (a not so brief lesson) - R/C Tech Forums

This will help with keeping the smoke in.

Thanks for the info. I read through that and hopefully next time I will have greater success. Most of my issues are being half drunk and wiring the BEC or ESC backwards lol

Call me crazy, but I am going to solder my ESC's, servo, and BEC connections directly onto my Rx. That way it's more compact, and I don't have to worry about poor connections.

I always wanted to try soldering everything direct like that, but I was never brave enough

The new chassis is looking good too

Got my new Freqeskins all mounted up!

You can kind of see in this picture how I flexed the cab around so the roof is very narrow. The widest part is at the double shear mounting of the rear shocks now.

Yeah, it's the new clear electronics. Only required for scalers at this time, but figured I should run em too ;)

Took some better pictures for you ladies. New ESC's should be here in a week or so!

It's looking like I have room to run straight upper links on the rear. So I will work on getting some carbon ones made this weekend.

Not much of an update, but I got my new electronics! I should have it wired up by this weekend.

I also got my shocks dialed in, made carbon rear upper links, and got the geometry dialed to my liking.

Here are some pics!

Full Compression

Full Droop

Mandatory Flex Shot (42 degrees)

I went over the the RcBros lab on Sunday and got my electronics soldered up. But I forgot to take pictures
So when I get back from Birmingham on Thursday I will show you guys/gals how clean they turned out!

Great news! Got my truck working finally! No smoke from the ESC's, but my new Brushless Hitec servo isn't working. Had to swap back in my 7950...

Here is the RTR weight (Keep in mind, all VP upgrades minus rear axle top)

Some pictures of the electronics

And some pictures of how tight the tolerances are on the rear suspension

Anybody have the top of the chassis get as low as axle center (with straight upper links)?

It's carbon fiber tube that I pick up at the local hobby shop. Around 5mm outside diameter. It works great, you just have to make sure that they don't collide with chassis or motors, or else they will snap.
