CF Progress Build

1 Attachment(s)
Changing everything for Nationals
New RCP CF Chassis
RCP CF Wheels
Shaved Rovers
CI DD Foams
clocked motors down
VP knuckle weights
change front links
60/40 set up

Deciding on shocks I have run Losi threaded shocks for years, I plan on testing the small Proline shock, SCX10 shock and the Traxxas big bore shock....I'm leaning towards the SCX10 cuz they're so light.

The old rig weighted in at exactly 6 lbs
The new weight will be under 5 lbs mainly wheels and shocks

You can see how far the front axle is clocked back
The RR plate is in it's original position.

Re: CF Progress Build

If you put the Big Bores in a lathe and have ti pistonrods you end up at 10g for the big bores.
Could be worth 4 grammes total to have a non leaking shock?

And i guess you plan on tilting that RR mount up so you get it to the same angle as the links?

I do like the big bore shock ...the proline seem to stick when left alone, once
they move they're fine, but I don't like the sticky

the RR plate will be moved up ...more pics to follow

got the wheels together ....100 grams less then my lightest wheel and tire

I like the link set-up but the proline shocks have to go...putting the SCX10 shocks
together now.

New car is looking good Dave! I run the SCX10 shocks on both my shafty, and my MOA cars without leaking. If you eliminate the plastic spacer in the bottom of the shock, and use 3 "O" rings instead, and a 1/16 of an inch "O" ring on the top cap should make those shocks almost leak proof. No issues with mine so far, also the machined piston takes care of the slop on the shock shaft."thumbsup"

she worked very well ...even without knuckle weights
but the motors are clocked down too much
they got caught up on the rocks a couple times
I'll add the RCBROS knuckle weights and clock the motors up a bit

I thought I would try the bodiless one more time
it's 3" tall 3" wide 8" long
after watching the Fletch U4RC rock racers
I went with a Fletch slam concept

That roof is 1" above the chassis plates? Btw your roof and hood have to be separate pieces of lexan from my understanding of the rules.
