Default Robotron's Remedy

Well I started off with a redcat a couple months ago, to see if I like crawlers.. then met up with Alaska RC Crawlers & Offroad through the forum,
Now with a little help from my friends Wrenchinrock, KR15 & Whiplashdjs,
I'm gathering parts for my new XR10 Remedy, and we're going to put Comp Crawling back on the Map in AK.

Any pro tips will be appreciated,..so feel free to chime in about whatever.

The Specs will be:

BDN Remedy 3.5 Chassis
XR10 Axles
VP Transmission Case
VP Motor Plates
RC4wd hardened gears
VP Link Mounts
VP Lockouts and C-hubs
Robinson Racing Pinion gears,
CF axle trusses & trans window covers,
RC Bros Knuckle Weights

7075 links bent by Wrenchinrock
Big Bores, Lathed, cap mod, jeepin doug cups, mini-T springs

Rowdy Racing Battery Tray,
Turnigy Nano 3s 850mah batteries,

Silver DE Racing Wheels -Dyed Dark Green
2x HB Rovers Cut & Shut with HB Block tires,
2x Losi Boss Claws - with shaved sidewalls & trimmed lugs.

Holmes Hobbies Torquemaster Motors with CF covers
smashed sidewinders,
Rowdy Racing Electronics Tray
Castle BEC,
Hitec HS-7955TG Servo
Hacked Flysky FSGT3B remote

A couple of pics as it sits,
mocking it up and waiting on some parts to arrive.

couple questions:

When I get my Big bores, should I run them Rightside Up or Upside Down,.. I've seen people set them up both ways.. i'm thinking lower COG with them upside down, but will they clear the tires as well?

Also, Should I run the cut & Shut's on the front or rear?
& why?

Running the hybrids I have found that they seem to perform better with the pins on the outside, so that the larger lugs can grab when reaching ledges.

My rears are body down and the fronts are body up. It just depends on what you are trying to clear. If there are no clearance issues, run them with all bodies down.

Agreed. On my dlux chassis, I have no choice but to run them right side up in the rear. If I could, they'd be upside down for sure. Any cog help we can get!

I run my big bores right side up. Don't see enough of an advantage to run them upside down. Just my 2 cents and the other thing is I would look into a more powerful servo. The 7955 is barely going to do the job. get a 7950 or 7980.

I was just looking at the specs on Servo Database, & I see what you mean, but it's still 100oz better than the servo on my previous rig,
So I'll run it for a bit while I save up for the next round of upgrades.

If you build it as light as you can and run the 7955 on 7v it will work ok. My wraith and my sporty both have 7955s. On 6v they are pretty lame though. My bls157hv in my xr10 is my favorite servo. 514oz-in and .11 sec.

Thanks for the comments guys,
I just got my Holmes Torquemaster Motors and RC Bros Knuckle Weights,
So now we're just waiting on USPS with the 7075 rod, smashed sidewinders, and my servo back from Hitec Repair.

Thanks man,
If anyone wants to Dye their wheels like mine, here's the recipe..

1.5 quarts of water, heated to just under boiling
1/2 bottle of Dark Green Rit Fabric Dye
Stir in one package of washed & rinsed Silver DE Racing Wheels, and let them stew for 4 minutes, checking color frequently.
Keep the wheels in for the same amount of time to keep the color even, and have some metal tongs ready to remove the wheels from the dye.
-Rinse with Cold Water

Thank you! I bought the black ones but I'd order some lighter wheels to get a unique look.
