Default XR10 2 Screw Mod

With permission from Mark Reel I have copied his how to on the 2 screw mod and started a thread for it.

I did this to make it easier to search for and to be able to link people to it allot easier.

ok here is a detailed post of this mod that has allowed my stock gears to last over a year.

the second screw is a 4-40 with a losi min alum nut.
just tighten these snug do not over tighten them as the plastic will just keep giving
a long screw was used for better viewing, use a short screw that comes up just past
the gold alum locknut.

also replaced the end of the axle (pic # 13) small 5 x 8 bearing to a Bushing (as i had one bearing explode on me and then break the gears.

Thanks for posting up the traxxas bushing part number.
Had them all over in the stock trans as well but completely slipped my mind after changing to Vanquish cases.

Small add on(for those of you that want)

I removed the "hinge" part after the mod was done.

What is the point of having the hinge on the rear axle? I never understood that part.

At one time Axial had plans to release a cutting brake for the rear axle.

I thought it was for easy replacement of the main output gear.

Kind of ironic if thats the case since its the main reason they get trashed in the first place.
