The Crawler Innovations; Y Town Double Agent XR10 Comp rigs are a special breed. They are built and designed to challenge the status quo, fight gravity, and put a smile on the face of the driver and spectator alike. Scalers can't do what comp rigs can do, and because of that, comp rigs will never die. This truck has been in the planning stage since last year. The parts and time finally came together and here is the Crawler Innovations Double Agent. Re: The Crawler Innovations; Y Town Double Agent XR10 Wow, it's been a long time since I've added to this build thread. This rig is still together and holds its position as shelf king well. This rig has not had the opportunity to be in a competition since it was built:oops:. The competition 4x4's / Shaftys have been more interesting as that platform advances allowing those crawlers to be as capable, if not more so, than the MOA. |
Re: The Crawler Innovations; Y Town Double Agent XR10 This video features the Crawler Innovations Double Agent XR10 that uses Axial XR10 custom built MOA axles fitted with Vanquish Products upgrades. The chassis is a carbon fiber Y Town Crawlers Double Agent. All suspension and steering links are titanium. The tires are cut n shut, Hot Bodies, white compound, Sedona tires that have been narrowed, tread pattern clocked, sidewalls have been shaved, and the remaining lugs grooved. The rims are 1" width, 6 Bolt Wheels from Crawler Innovations, that use Vanquish Products SLW aluminum hubs for strength and adjustable track width, P/N; CWR-5003. Re: The Crawler Innovations; Y Town Double Agent XR10 Gavin and I (Edmundo Ayala) will be driving and filming RC cars on April 6, 2019 at the White Oak City Park in White Oak, Texas. Start Time 9:30AM Park Address: 500 E. Magnolia St. White Oak, TX 75693 Park Web Site: https://www.cityofwhiteoak.com/depar...oak-city-park/ The courses will be set based on the rc vehicles in attendance. So whatever the majority of the group has to drive, that is what we will run. No one will be turned away, and every RC will have a chance on course. Based on our last two Get Togethers, fun was had by everyone, and more people are showing up. The March Get Together had three Competition course and three Activated courses. Consider this your formal invite to stop by, drive your RC car and meet other hobbyists. This is not a competition or full blown event. This a get together with focus on driving and visiting. I hope to see you there and possibly get your RC car on camera. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7825/...78f7ec09_b.jpg Score Sheet that will be used: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7822/...20b2e6f9_b.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7893/...cf2c7729_b.jpg Here is a full length (2.5hrs) video that Gavin made of the March Get Together. Re: The Crawler Innovations; Y Town Double Agent XR10 Whats up with the “4 pounds minimum” rule for moa? Didn’t realize there where weight restrictions. |
Re: The Crawler Innovations; Y Town Double Agent XR10 Quote:
The four pound weight minimum is just that, the least your RC and any other competitor's RC must weigh for Activated Outlaw. Why? Because the lightest weight comp crawler can generally relate to whom has the most money to afford the light weight, strong parts. This was completely ignored by the USRCCA when it was functioning. The talented drivers with expendable income and sponsors created such a performance gap that the average person walked away and the modern day scale / model crawler gained momentum. By creating a weight minimum, those with talent to build can put the extra weight where they want it, those new to the hobby now have a fair, fun, and repeatable guide to build/compete by, and in general weight minimums are found in every form of 1:1 motorsport. Thank you for your question. - Edmundo Ayala |
