The Crawler Innovations; Y Town Double Agent XR10

Comp rigs are a special breed. They are built and designed to challenge the status quo, fight gravity, and put a smile on the face of the driver and spectator alike. Scalers can't do what comp rigs can do, and because of that, comp rigs will never die.

This truck has been in the planning stage since last year. The parts and time finally came together and here is the Crawler Innovations Double Agent.

First and foremost, a huge Thank You to my sponsors on this build:

I don't know. It's not an event that I currently plan to attend, but life is always changing so I'm not totally ruling it out.

I cannot take credit for that. The story goes, I already had the Y Town Crawlers Double Agent Chassis @ the CI shop. I couldn't find a second set of VP'd XR Axles. VP didn't have them, team driver or not. However, Steve connected me with Rob who works @ VP and wanted to sell his axles. They had stock gears, universals, on a stock xr chassis with VP DH wheels. I bought the rig for the parts I needed and sold the rest. The beadlocks were orange and went perfect with another build the 2.2 Mini Clod. Build Thread:

Crawler Innovations reviews (and by review CI means that we show you what the tires do on the rocks, not talk about them) the new RC4WD 2.2 Bully Competition Tire for RC Rock Crawlers of the competition flavor. By referencing "comp" it means that the rc rock crawler is not scale to a 1:1 rock crawler; it means the rc rock crawler vehicle is designed for all out performance within the class rules it competes in.

In this video, Crawler Innovations is using three different trucks, built to USRCCA 2.2 Pro and 2.2 Shafty specifications. Each truck has a build thread linked to it below;

First truck in video is a 2.2 Shafty:
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...novations.html

2nd Truck featured is 2.2 Pro, Y Town Crawlers Double Agent XR-10;
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...gent-xr10.html

3rd Truck featured is 2.2 Pro, Y Town Crawlers Secret Agent XR-10;
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...-10-build.html

All of the tires, foams, and wheels used in this video are off the shelf parts and unmodified. Anyone can purchase these parts. There will be a full write on RCCrawler - News, Reviews, Videos and much more! in the tires and wheels section. I'll try to link back to it here once it's posted on RCC. All trucks used Crawler Innovations 6 Bolt Wheels that use Vanquish Products SLW hubs, all trucks used Crawler Innovations Double Deuce Foams in one flavor or another.

Thank you for watching.

Comp Crawlers are a special breed. They are built and designed to challenge the status quo, fight gravity, and put a smile on the face of the driver and spectator alike. Scale Rock Crawlers cannot perform in the same way as comp crawlers, and because of that, competition rc rock crawlers will never die.

Wow, it's been a long time since I've added to this build thread. This rig is still together and holds its position as shelf king well. This rig has not had the opportunity to be in a competition since it was built:oops:. The competition 4x4's / Shaftys have been more interesting as that platform advances allowing those crawlers to be as capable, if not more so, than the MOA.:shock:

This video features the Crawler Innovations Double Agent XR10 that uses Axial XR10 custom built MOA axles fitted with Vanquish Products upgrades. The chassis is a carbon fiber Y Town Crawlers Double Agent. All suspension and steering links are titanium. The tires are cut n shut, Hot Bodies, white compound, Sedona tires that have been narrowed, tread pattern clocked, sidewalls have been shaved, and the remaining lugs grooved. The rims are 1" width, 6 Bolt Wheels from Crawler Innovations, that use Vanquish Products SLW aluminum hubs for strength and adjustable track width, P/N; CWR-5003. The tire foams are Crawler Innovations Double Deuce 5.25", Comp Cut Inner with Soft Outer front; P/N; CWR-1044 and Comp Cut Inner with Medium Outer Rear; P/N; CWR-1045.

Gavin and I (Edmundo Ayala) will be driving and filming RC cars on April 6, 2019 at the White Oak City Park in White Oak, Texas.
Start Time 9:30AM

Park Address:
500 E. Magnolia St.
White Oak, TX 75693

Park Web Site:
https://www.cityofwhiteoak.com/depar...oak-city-park/

The courses will be set based on the rc vehicles in attendance. So whatever the majority of the group has to drive, that is what we will run. No one will be turned away, and every RC will have a chance on course.

Based on our last two Get Togethers, fun was had by everyone, and more people are showing up. The March Get Together had three Competition course and three Activated courses.

Consider this your formal invite to stop by, drive your RC car and meet other hobbyists. This is not a competition or full blown event. This a get together with focus on driving and visiting. I hope to see you there and possibly get your RC car on camera.

Whats up with the “4 pounds minimum” rule for moa? Didn’t realize there where weight restrictions.

The four pound weight minimum is just that, the least your RC and any other competitor's RC must weigh for Activated Outlaw.

Why?

Because the lightest weight comp crawler can generally relate to whom has the most money to afford the light weight, strong parts. This was completely ignored by the USRCCA when it was functioning. The talented drivers with expendable income and sponsors created such a performance gap that the average person walked away and the modern day scale / model crawler gained momentum.

By creating a weight minimum, those with talent to build can put the extra weight where they want it, those new to the hobby now have a fair, fun, and repeatable guide to build/compete by, and in general weight minimums are found in every form of 1:1 motorsport.

Thank you for your question.

The Goodman-LeGrand location has great terrain for scale RC's as well as comp crawlers. This is our 3rd get together at this location for 2019. We are hopeful to run three Competition course and three Activated courses.

Are you interested in having your RC building and rc driving skills tested? Crawler Innovations and Ayala Metal Works are all about building and driving hobby grade RCs to the limit. "Activated Outlaw" competition crawlers was created for this reason with the focus of creating a sanctioning body that is fair, fun, and repeatable. CI and AMW have been hosting a Get Together on the first Saturday of every month at a local park since 2019.

Gavin and I (Edmundo Ayala) will be driving and filming RC cars on January 4, 2020 at Love's Lookout, located in Jacksonville, Texas.

That is awesome that your children watched it too! Thank you for your views. The orange wheels should be available Jan 2021.
