Re: Axial XR-10 a.k.a Smurfette

It's time for my sister to step up to the pro class alongside with 2.2's. "thumbsup" We got good deal from Hittman and got his old CCC Mutt. Thanks to him!

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_0934.JPG
Rig came down to cold Finland today. Good packing there Christian!

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_0935.JPG
Someone has been waiting for it! :flipoff:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_0936.JPG
What do we have here?

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_0938.JPG
Some CCC magic is already noticed! :)

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_0939.JPG
Here are the stuff that we got from Hittman. It's a really good platform to start building the dream car. All except the electronics.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_0940.JPG
All of the stuff are in great shape. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_0941.JPG
Rear axle ready to be attached back to the Mutt. :flipoff:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_0942.JPG
Front axle is as well. I might go for a little less caster, but that's about all I will change.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_0944.JPG
These are one of the tires that will be used under this rig. The other ones are LaaLaa Skinny Rovers and E.Y Design narrow voodoos. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...95731092_o.jpg
Skins have already been designed by Michelle from Krawler Konceptz! How orsome are these?!:mrgreen:

Now we have the whole autumn to build this thing, and may start competing with it next year. To the electronics, I've made a decision to go for Holmes Hobbies this time. More will come, when the rig is taking it's shape. "thumbsup"

It's so cool that I can finally start driving the class of kings. I've always thought that this class is really hard to drive so I've never seen myself driving it. But after few trainings with my brother's car, I thought well, why not?
Rest of the year is quite busy for me. So next year starts the real thing. Now my consentration is on shafty and pro. Luckily I've got amazing car and beautiful panels. Thanks Michelle from Krawler Konceptz one more time! Of course I wouldn't have smurfette without my brother so thanks bro! Looking forward on driving and ofc some international comps!

P.s. I know you guys are confused about the panels, but that's part of the plan ;)

Now all us crawlers have to get our asses handed to us by a girl! And a smokin hot one at that!
Looks like a great start to an awesome build"thumbsup"
Good luck in pro class Sofi

Re: Axial XR-10 a.k.a Smurfette

While we have been waiting for the other electronics to come in stock again, Sofi has been training with my pro and building the things she can for now. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1016296.JPG
First competition with pro rig. Still unfamiliar with two ESC's, but the driving seems to be there. Just requires lot of training as in with any other driver. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1022.JPG
So, time to start skinning Smurfette! :flipoff:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1023.JPG
As it turned out, the Mutt wasn't in original wideness, when it left from NM. Time to make it wider. Sofi didn't want to cut the skins, which is highly acceptable in this case. :ror:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1024.JPG
Still smiling...

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1025.JPG
After two hours... :flipoff:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1026.JPG
Few still to attach. Turned out to be a really tricky job to find parts to make this wider.

Now it's time to wait for the electronics. Might take a while. Plan is to get it going in next two months. ;-)

Re: Axial XR-10 a.k.a Smurfette

Yeah! Looking good! Thanks one more time krawler konceptz and ofc my brother who had enough patience to put those panels together. Just can't wait to get the electonics... even though it was fun to drive with my brothers car but I really want to see how smurfette goes! So it's just waiting now. Luckily winter comes so I have time to focus on smurfette. I know that next year that car is going to be in a pretty good shape, so I can rock the world in competitions! ;)

Good point right there MR. CCC! :lmao:

Time for update.

After I heard, that the next batch of ESC's will take time to arrive from Holmes Hobbies, I decided to tare apart my own electronics from the bully. This way Sofi could have her first comp in this year. "thumbsup" So, it was time for preparations.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1044.JPG
Old trusted servo from my ex-mini crawler. Futaba BLS157HV. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1045.JPG
I also bent the roof panel and now it looks really mean! :flipoff:

Steering in place.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1049.JPG
And it steers! :lmao: I also gave my E.Y. Designs narrowed Voodoos to Sofi's rig. Dlux wheels and those tires are perfect match for the rig. 8)

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1050.JPG
Rear motor attached.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1056.JPG
Electronics are on the place. Even the battery is perfect match for the colours of this thing! :flipoff:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1057.JPG
Mutt gives you a decent amount of ground clearance as well.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1060.JPG
I have to say, that Michelle did amazing job with the skins. Again! "thumbsup"

Then it was time for the comp. The last one in our season 2014. Fence Puzzle! 8)

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1010991.JPG
Sofi did not have a clue, that her rig would be in action already there. It was great to see her face, when she saw the finished product. 8) Priceless. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1010994.JPG
Time to get the party started! :)

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1011030.JPG
On the line for the course!

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1011357.JPG
Nervous?

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1011369.JPG
First gate - cleared!

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1011047.JPG
The ride looked really good!

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1011381.JPG
Going for the difficult gate four. 8)

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1011403.JPG
Rig was working flawless through the comp. Nothing broke and Sofi did few amazing performances! "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1011081.JPG
There was only one thing, which I found out that needs changing. That's the caster angle. In my opinion it had way too much positive caster. But that's about all, that I would change of it so far. "thumbsup"

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ySST9E6LKn8?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Here video from the second course, where Sofi only took two reverses! She decided not to go for the bonuses, but just go on the finish line. Wise descision. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/TULOKSET/Crawling...20TULOKSET.jpg
Here are the results! "thumbsup" Third position with a brand new rig. That's the spirit! 8)

After the comp, I went to garage to "fix" the only problem it had with the caster angle.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1074.JPG
One step back. :lmao:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1076.JPG
It still steers pretty well.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1077.JPG
I think this is going to improve the steering quite a bit at least in Finland. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1078.JPG
Now we'll just have to test it, when we have a suitable weather to do that. It's getting colder here day by day. Next comp will be on January and the tuning will start from there. At least it's good, that Sofi has now driven a few gates with this before the new season. "thumbsup"

We'll continue on working.

Hi!

Here's straigh copy of my bully 2 thread:

I wanted to go with someting little wider in front and narrow in rear. Narrow Voodoos to the front axle with 0.87" wheels in it. And ultra narrow Voodoos to the rear with 0.72" wide wheel.

Re: Axial XR-10 a.k.a Smurfette

So, first comp behind. I have to say that I was completely surprised when Samu brought my car with his electronics on it. It was a really nice surprise so thanks bro! :) Driving with smurfette was kind of easy thanks to my chassis CCC Mutt which is by the way brilliant! It is hard to describe how good it feels to drive with that car. I think that word smooth could gave you the best description. Everything works amazingly! Still it is hard to use all the buttons which I have never used because I've been driving shafty class. So my driving is kind of slow. My first comp went well. Still, I've got pretty good drivers to challenge me but I think that is a good thing! It's good to have some challenge :) Smurfette rocks! Still, looking forward to the next season! My brother is spending a lot time with that car but I think he has to step aside because I want to repair my rig all by myself, of course ;) So, now it's time for training for the next season.

I thought I saw you using the mt4 in the video .. It took me a long time to get used to the buttons and then I switched to the thumb lever .. It's almost effortless and natural just sliding your thumb up and down for dig and burn and the little beep in the center of the lever lets you know when you're exactly 50/50 ... You can focus more on the rig that way instead of what buttons you're hitting ... Keep your step aux at increments of 10 so the lever is smooth and you can cruise through the courses [emoji106]
