So the other night I had some motivation to do some work and I chose the one thing I hate MOST about RC cars ...... Shocks. I absolutely despise working on shocks. Messy, air bubbles, messy, oil, bleeding ... rebleeding ..... just a mess. Ok so anyway heres where I started.

I have to say thank you baby jesus someone picked up Eggressors delrin shocks! I loved these things when I had my other trucks and so happy RcBros picked them up, as well as some other goodies Ill show later.

And as you can see I got some shock shafts too. Again to recap and save some of you from digging Ill mention why I use these Traxxas shafts. First I dont like internally limiting shocks. Just to much to change a limiter and it doesnt stop the shaft from pushing into the bladders if they fully compress. The Traxxas 1664T shafts are bit shorter and help with this. Also since we use the Traxxas big bore orings these fit better helping prevent leakage down bottom. Again all my opinion.

SCX Shaft

Traxxas 1664T

Little weight comparison of a built SCX body vs a built Delrin body

Now I plan on running external limiters of 6mm .... so building these I used a SpecR shock tool that helps set rebound in touring cars. I used the 5mm setting.

Torture done

Now onto some pictures of the fun stuff ..... Another high five to a vendor on here. New bearings both stock and VP big sized

With those I was able to get an axle started .... now if my screws just get here quicker

Did my bushing/delrin trick again ..... let me save you some digging again. I made this bushing out of delrin years ago to combat the bushing/bearing issue and blowing gears. The delrin has a sleeve on it that (I believe) helps support the Ti shaft. Yes Ti is lighter then steel and stronger BUT its will bend. Under the loads I felt the top shaft had some deflection and that was a cause of gears popping. I never did the 2 bolt mod on my truck but never had a gear pop or blow up from doing this.

And going together ........ Yes plastic housings Told ya I wanted a skinny chick rig.

Ok thats its for now ...... thanks for looking ......

Youll probably get there before me lol ....... between the USPS and machine time it took me a 2 weeks to get my rear axle built and the fronts only half way together.

I'm not a machinist I do all my own stuff and I've been working on these axles for weeks so it is a slow process

63 grams off the axle, that is some serious weight savings. Keep it up. That's more than .25lbs if you pull that off on both the front and the back.

Forevvvvvvver ....... spent a couple hours down in the hole the other night and made this.

Kind of liking the new toy a lot ......

Also made some extras if anyone just wants the mount instead of having to buy all the pieces. You can check them out in the Vendors area.

Hoping the rest of my front end stuff and links come in by Friday so I can maybe have a roller. And some more good things to add to the Vendor area.
