Default xr10 pinions with 55T

Hey all,

Been lacking wheelspeed with my 55t rockstars. A motor upgrade would be nice but I need to finish these motors off before that happens. I'd guess I'm running the 14t that came with the kit (bought second hand) but I'd like some more wheelspeed. I know I can go to a 15t but would a 16t or larger fit?

Thanks

IMO a tooth or 2 up on the pinion will not give you much and will probably make your motors run hot. The only real guaranteed fix would be some 35 or less turn motors.

If thats the way your going to be then gear it up and send those 55s to an early grave? Then get yourself a pair of 13t-20t motors and wake that XR up.

Thats what I'm talking about. Make that XR hop from rock to rock!

Yes 3S at the moment. Thinking about making some 4s 450 packs with some of the nanotecs as I am a cheap sob I do have 4s 850s but I don't want the extra weight of that size pack.

So it looks like I'm just going to series 2 3s 450 mach packs into a 6s. Holmes says it takes 25vin and 6s pack totally charger is 25.2v

Should get all the wheel speed I need

I'm sure those motors aren't rated for 6s. Why not just keep them as spares and buy some new ones rather than totally destroying them.

If you really want wheelspeed then go for a pair off 30T HH tourqemaster pro..
Great and cheap motors,, (About 60-70$)(for one motor)

Yeah I'll want something to replace these old rockstars at some point. The rest of the rig is coming together nicely. Including a new link and mount design. Prototype is done at this point and the TI rod arrived to start making the first few sets to test. So far the prototype has preformed fantastically even being made out of steel.

Few more revisions and we may have a final product people are interested in

As for these motors not being rated for over 3s, I've run a lot more current through much smaller motors. The brushes will take a beating but I'm not looking to keep these motors around forever
