Same here started readind fantasy books about 20 years ago.
I was hooked on dark elf books. I was waiting new books like cristmas.
When i got this car from Manu the naming was easy.
Nowadays i don't have so much time to read.
I have to use my spare time for building and training these cars

It's shame that the Xr is dying slowly.
I have 1 set of bully axles but for some reason i don't like them so much.
I don't know why i just don't like them.
Hopefully i have enough money to buy the Y-town rear axle when it for sale. I'm not working nowadays. Im at school reading to electric and Automated electronics so i don't get so much money.
I have so many projects going on. I have to build super and i'm little worried that i don't have enough money for everything.

Very nice build. I was wondering how compatible the Double Agent 1.0 links are with version 2.0. I'm curious to see what you think of the difference in performance between the two chassis. I also wanted to say thank you for your purchase and use of Crawler Innovations products .

I hadn't been keeping up for several years (with the book releases) but I've gotten back into them either by audio book or reading in my spare time. Right now, my spare time is at work (when there is downtime).

Same length links

There is less room around the rear of the chassis on the 2.0, so it can be tricky to sneak the links around everything. Once you find the sweet spot, it's well worth it.

Old links work nicely. Here is couple pics.

The other upper link is little bit bend. It don't matter it works so no need for new one... Or do i?? Yes i need new uppers when i order the new rear axle from Y-town

Here is some measurement pics.
Full Droop

highest position.

Needs more tuning. There is this "little" problem for tuning.

Winter in finland Hopefully i have time to go indoor track for some testing. 3h of driving for closest and only indoor track

Great looking build, I had to look twice to see that it wasn't my truck

The Y-Town rear axle needs a slightly longer upper link. Since you have short Traxxas rod ends now, you can probably get away with swapping to Axial or Vaterra/Losi rod ends.

Time to make some adjustment to the car.

It has been sitting like this in the carage for couple months.
Hard to get motivation to do anything becouse it's winter in Finland.
Now it's couple months to first comp so it's time to start build and maintaince the car.

Started with removing the chassis and weighting it with stock screws and parts.

Stock weight 75.9grams. (2,6773oz)
I think i have to shave some grams off.

First reduction was the roof pieces. (I don't know what they are called)

Stock pieces (0,2187oz)

New lighter version (0,1164oz)
Weight saving 2,9g (0,10229oz) from the highest position of the car.
I like that

Then it was time to check the middle carbon piece weight.

(0,20459oz)

And then compared with these aluminum tubes.

Again couple grams of from the chassis -2,5g. (0,088185oz)

I think i went little overboard with these bad boys in the next pic.

(0,08113oz)
4X Grade 5, 6AL/4V Titanium M3 screws for the lower links.
Light and durable

Original screws.

(0,1411oz)
Again 1,7g (0,059966oz) weight saving in the chassis.

So here we had the individualized weights.

It was time to look how much weight in the original screws, nuts and roof pieces.

(0,9912oz)

And then the new Wine red aluminum hardware and couple titanium screws.

They are light! Only 12,7g (0,44798oz)
Weight reduction whopping 15,4g (0,54322oz)

New skidplate for the car... No weight saving here

grey is the stock rasberry red is the new one.
Maybe change the color before comp season.
Ordered "wrong" color filament.

Here we have the new look

I like how it turned out. Now it's time to get to open the axles and see what they have eaten. Still couple months before first comp so i have time to order parts for them.

Of course i have to tell how much weight overral was shaved off!
Started from...

(2,6773oz)

Ended weighting

(2,0071oz)

Ended up saving 19g! (0,67021oz)
Now it's sitting under 60g
From here it's nice to advance to next parts of the car

Damn whole crawling season 2017 is over and i haven't updated my build threads.
Ok i have been busy studying video editing and other stuff...
Now i have time so let's continue where we left the story.
-----------------------------------------------------------

So the chassis is ready. It's time to do some maintaince to the axles.

Front axle on the table. I think i run over 200 batteries last (2016) summer
Nothing broke. I can say i'm happy for the quality xr10 provide.

Ok there was one broken screw. Not my doing. Old owner did this!
Luckly it's only plastic chub so...

Little bit of force and wire cutters and we are good to continue

both axles dissembled. Gears in perfect condition and everything else also.

These inserts are the best. I have to get some more for the spare covers.

New bearing for front & rear. Do u guess where did i order them?
I didn't know that i had Vq motor plates and they have bigger bearing than original Xr10 plate. So i had to order few bigger bearing also.

The pin was bend so i had to dremel it so i could dissemble the knucle to get new bearings and clean the shafts.

Some WD40 love and they are shiny again.

Time to assemble the axles with new bearings and everything else is old stuff.

Grey battery tray and electronics tray didn't fit in the color theme anymore.
So had to do something to them...

BLOOD LIKE CREAM

Weighted the nexus and some new socks to cover them from rocks.
Link for Team Brood nexus page go check them out.

Rear axle almost ready.

Vq grease inside.

Front & Rear axle ready to go under the car

Rear finished... Can u say your crawler is finished?
There is allways something to do and tweak.

Front and rear in place. Time for some electronics job.

Can u find CC bec in the piture?

Hint. Under the servo

-Links and shocks spots-
Front

REAR

Car ready to go to scale.

RTR weight with y-town wheels. 1562g (55.09793oz)

RTR weight with Crawler innovations wheels. 1588g (56.01505oz)

Winter was over and it was time to go out.

First training session at the spring.
More later in the next chapter.

Few training sessions and it was time to go seasons first comp
Finnish RC Crawling series 2017 start now!

First comp out of five comps was held in Helsinki, Viikki.
New spot for everybody. It was nice place to hold comp.
Few pictures from the comp place.
Thanks to Zarizi Tech for pictures.
-Link to better quality and much more pictures-
https://zarizitech.nn.fi/kuvat/Finni...+1+-+Helsinki/

We had many ppl participating in season start. Not 100% sure was it record. That's the way to start season.

There was good amount scale ppl also.
I like that we run Scale & Crawling comps together at the same time.
Good way to get scale ppl to the dark side

My driving was not so good. Out of time in two courses
5th place overall.

Man needs more training!
Ok second season for me so there is time evolve.
More training with the new chassis.
Overall i'm very happy with the new chassis.
It works 10 times better in our training spot.
Where the old chassis would hang in the middle and turn the car around. New chassis goes nicely over

Here is video from the comp.
Course 4/4 -29pts

It was time to make "little" changes before the Rc Crawling Nordics -17!

I bought used Team Brood stubbies!
Not cheapest buy these things keep their price even used.
Brood Stubbies 30t with crazy addons.

Made motor covers from old vial pottle and painted them black.
These pictures are taken after the season -17 was over so not anymore so black

Gained few grams more weight from Nexus motors.
First pic is with Brood Nexus motors and no roof.

Second one is with Brood Stubbys and roof on.

If i remember correct the roof + zipties was 5grams.
So gained 33grams from the Stubbies and vial covers.

It don't matter. The extra torque and speed fix that weight gain.
First training session i was so happy with the new motors.
I was over throttling all the time becouse the power gain was so good.
Of course i wanted to do that and enjoy the power!
Now the startup is much smoother and in bind situation it's more controllable.

Now the car is ready for Nordics -17

So it was time to go to nordics -17!

Second trip to nordics for me. This time nordics was held in Finland.
So it was short drive this time to comp. About 220KM trip one way.

It was fun to see old and new faces in the comp.
I like crawling ppl because. It's like one big family.
Everybody is willing to help each other.
I had all kind of spare parts and computer with cc link.
There was couple times i get to loan my computer and give some parts to help other ppl.

Look how happy everyone looks on sunday after the comp!

Few pictures from the comp. Not my pics. I don't have time to take comp pics becouse i'm filming them.
Big thanks to Samu Sarka for pics. Down is link for more pics from Samu.
https://zarizitech.nn.fi/kuvat/Nordi...Comp+pictures/

Last year i was 3rd with my 2.2M so my goal was to get top 5 in this comp.
I knew that it was not going to be easy. There was Samu, LaaLaa, Arto and other very good drivers to beat to get to top places.

Last year i was so happy when i got this trophy.
So cool design from Tobias (DravTech)

When i saw this years trophys i had to get one to home.
Look at these viking bad ass trophys!

I was thinking that i would get one trophy from Super class.
I thought wrong. I don't have my own car and i was loaning Tobias super.
Only 1 course driven and then Tobias broke axle shaft on second course.
No spare parts for that and it was over. No trophy from super.

I have never gotten so bad point's in super!
I was thinking that i would be last. No i was second last!

Gongratulations to winners!

So i had some pressure after that. Only 2.2$ & 2.2M class left.
I was little disappointed becouse those classes had more competition to win trophy.

What happened with 2.2M?

3rd place and cool viking trophy to take home!!!

Samu and Laalaa was their own class.
I need much more training and comps before i can start to comp with their level.

It was very close battle for the 3rd place. Arto was only 2 points away!
Luckly i won!

Here is one video from the comp with my 2.2M.
Course 2/5 -30pts.

I bought new filming eguipment also. Gimball and 4k camera.

I bought Vegas pro editing software and i had problems with it.
The video audio and framerate is not so good. Some codex problems i think.
I could not get it fixed.

So i used some more money and bought Adobe premiere and all other programs that adobe provides. Now i have to pay every month to make videos. I don't like that because i'm at school and i don't have so much money. Now i don't have so much money to buy Rc stuff!
Hopefully it will pay it self back somehow.
Goods from manufactors or something like that.

Here is compilation that i made from the comp.
It would be fun if ppl would share it in Facebook and other medias.
Of course other videos 2.
If i get more views then it would be possible me to get some ad revenue from the videos.
Of course that would motivate me to do even more and better videos.

Until next time!
