Default Looking for an XR10

It was only recently I learned about the MOA comp crawlers. so you can imagine my disappointment to realize that the genre has basically a thing of the past.

I’m dreaming of building a xr10 mantis but I cannot find anyone selling an xr10. I’ve tried to build one by getting spare parts but realized that that's not going to work as the parts are scattered all over the world and I’ll spend a fortune on shipping. I'm living in germany so its even harder it seems.

if anyone here has one for sale or knows of a place to get one, Please let me know.

I would think you’d have better luck with this in Europe than in the US. I now consider myself extremely lucky. Purchased over 7 years ago. Back then I would have had a complete chassis to sell to you. This one has an aftermarket chassis. And wheels. And shocks. I love my MOA. I don’t compete. I just have fun with this one. High performance fun…

I can only jealously watch . I just brought the mantis chassis for the xr10 in case they also stop making it at some point.

If I am unable to get an XR10 I was thinking maybe I'll get the Bully 2 axels and try to mate the mantis to it. I feel like it’s a long shot but I am a CAD artist and I have a 3d printer, I might be able to make all the parts I need to at least put the two together. If all of this works, I can CNC the connections. hope it won't come to that.

Maybe I will show the progress here as I go along.

The Mantis crawls differently. But it’s the coolest looking. Cut the Ridgeline body to fit the chassis. Wicked
Good luck with your search

After some Intense Bidding on ebay I finally got one.
got a few goodies as well. I'm just waiting for the mantis chassis now.

It's seen better days but with a bit of love I think I can restore it.

Next to my still WIP SCX10 ii

Cabless Mantis XR10. Since it has a body, I don’t hide my wires and leads

I haven’t been on here in ages and it’s a shame because I’m thinking about listing mine cuz I’ve used it maybe 2 times in the past year

Thing of the past? Nah. Just a small niche section in the hobby like the rest of the wrcca classes. Imho, id skip the xr axles and mantis chassis altogether. There are far better platforms for axles and chassis out there.

Im going to be building a one off portal moa build after my one off sporty is finished.

Dont pick a chassis or a set of axles because they look cool. Ask yourself what you want out of the rig. Crazy breakover? Good link geometry? Cliff hanger lines? You wanna run a body or cage like topper? Whats your budget?

What platform is a lot better? I’ve never seen portal axles on an MOA, that sounds really interesting! I’d love to see a build thread if you end up making that.
