The new rx are internal antennas which is really nice and your able to have the plugs horizontal (layed down)

One thing is watch the input voltage the rx can handle. I know the one you have and the newer ones can handle 8.4going into them so its nicer for us. You can run the BEC directly through the rx instead of splicing and cutting into the servo leads or running the bypass connectors.

Just have to pull the red wire from your ESC's once you calibrate them if you run the BEC through the rx.

I think one of these boats needs a new receiver with telemetry. Nitro motors can get really hot inside these boats and the RX461 can keep track of the RPM and Temp.

Thanks for that. I didn't know that the newer receivers could handle 8.4volts, would have saved me some work splitting the BEC to the servo 7.4 and receiver 6.4 using the diode thing as shown in Holmes wiring digram. It works just fine but was a pain. Cool that the new mod 461s take 8.4v. I'll look for a new receiver with the 8.4 v

Holmes power Torque Master Pro motors 27t hand wound are so smooth and powerful. Making lines that would stall my old 45t motors. Finished stripping the XR10 Mantis front and rear ends. Its nice to do a complete rebuild and fix things that you skipped in the first build. I tried to use the best parts I could find. Bench tests look good and everthing looks tight and sounds smooth. The Holmes 27t motors are silky smooth with great low end and great speed. I should be able to launch this thing soon. I'm getting excited.

Poor old Mantis. Looks like a sleeping bug just weighting to get back on the rocks. I had some good crawling with this rig.

Old vintage parts for a rebuild of my XR10. I think I have enough parts to do a complete rebuild of the old vintage XR10.

Time to dress up the pink Rovers. I think they need cut and shave.

Progress. Hope this works. I'm in the dark with most of this job. Trying different things to sand rubber. Now allI have to do is repeat the process seven more times.,

Found that a Dremel with a 1/2" 80 grit sanding wheel works well.,

Finally looks like a proper crawler tire. I'll clip them and run them on the Yeti easy, just to break them in. Got to be careful because the Yeti will eat them for lunch.

Thanks, These are my first tire mod and they made me think of the whats posable when you make your own tiers. I now want to make a set of mixed VooDoos silver and gold.

Finally I got the suspension working the way I want. No binding and no rubbing sounds. Very smooth and the frame is very rigid. I used 6bolt wheels from Crawler Innovations.

Merry Christmas. My new MT4 Airtronics radio in the background. Should make it easier to setup. My wife thinks Im nuts. She sees my Jeep in the garage and just shrugs her shoulders. She just doesn't get it. Take the Jeep out on the rocks, $600.00 take the RC on the rocks 10.00 and I'm a better driver in the Jeep than before I started crawling RC crawlers. I think this truck is going to be a game changer. and with the new MT4 airtronics radio I can now have better control of the dig. The rig feels real nice so far. Can't weight to get it on some rock.

Made some skins with sharp paint pens. Kind of crazy design but it works. Will put it on the rocks soon for tests. Wet and cold now. Will need a dry day.,,

New wheels from RCBrothers.com. I will use these for my cut and shut VooDoos. I think I'll use aluminum screws. The stainless screws add some weight. The aluminum screws are half the weight.,

My new RC brothers wheels for cut VOODOO pins. Some paint to make it pop.,

The VooDoos were a lot easier to do than the Rovers.

Close up of the top printing.

I think I'm good to go. The old skins didn't hold up due to the paint not sticking to the lexan well. Had the same problem with my Yeti.

Lots of rain today so I messed around with my printer and some printable overhead projector vinyl. Came up with printed wood panels and some 3D image stuff. I like this look and the skins are very durable.,

3d top and fax wood.,

A few shots from last weeks tests. I had full size VooDoos off my Mantis and they work real well on this rig.

XR10 SuDu Pro and Holmes Torque Master Pros doing their thing. I have to get used to this much power, It can make you or break you. I think the Torque Masters could twist a axial very easily.

SuDu Pro can jump. I used a new .500mah GForce battery and it just came alive.
