Axial Racing - Yeti

The only things I'm not super keen on is the small threads to retain the wheels, craptastic steering servo and the 2 channel radio. Fortunately it comes with a 3 channel receiver so a flysky radio can bind right to it stock and that servo will work great shifting the 2 speed when a real servo is installed for steering so that really only leaves the stubs as a weak point I guess.

those axles are wicked. Now for someone to make chubs and knuckles for a front axle. Would be awesome for a monster truck or mega truck build.

I can't believe they sunk in cap-head bolts for the axle truss instead of using button-head bolts on the surface. It's like they didn't learn from the AR60 housings weak point. I bet I know right where the housings will break.

And still plastic trailing arms?

And there's so much room for bigger diff carrier bearings!

And it looks like they took a note from the questionable Ascender setup where the plastic diff cover holds the carrier bearings in place.

And a servo that struggles to move 4.5" tall tires paired up with some monstrous 7.25" meats.

How many hundred dollars and it still comes with fixed non-adjustable plastic camber and toe links?

I think I'll pass, try again. Maybe I'm just overly critical, but I expect improved, not just new.

While your comments are valid, remember this is Axial's FIRST 1/8th scale anything. There are going to be refinements later on down the line if they keep up this scale.

Marketing and selling- You can't just put all of the best parts and assume they're going to sell. Axial was being smart by making their normal platform while allowing them to "test" the waters without loosing too much money, if at all.

Also, Axial never portrayed the XL as a racer, moreso as a basher. Axial had no need to put adjustable everything on the kit; it would be money wasted to the persons who only drive this in their yard. Plus, it gives them to make their own upgrades to get a little more profit out of their products.

Cut them some slack. They're doing what they can with the budget that the higher bosses gave them.

The Yeti XL looks cool but if I got one it would be the 1/10th for sure.

$700 is a big chunk of change. It's pretty big when you see the comparison photo with the 1/10 Yeti.

I'm thinking I'm waiting for them to release the Yeti as a kit still.

The Yeti XL is the largest 1/8 I have ever seen!
Next to the HPI baja it wasn't much smaller. I bet if it was next to my 1:5 Redcat XBE it would be the same size!

I think it would look good in with this photo.
My custom 1:5 SC and my losi 5T are much bigger though.

I need to buy this body and see what I have that fits it. I could have a bada$$ XBE with it fitted right.

its growing on me thats for sure.

was looking at the Kyosho FO-XX but something about this vehicle.

Do wish it was a kit though, but to be honest other than the servo, the ESC and Motor aren't bad at all.

If your looking for a kit then I would buy the kyosho axles and look at the traxxas or savage 2 speed trans and design a frame around it and have a one off build that is your! I have a scale 1/5 jeep with these axles and they are very well suited or custom builds of this size.

The kyosho is smaller with a wheel base of 14.17 inches(360mm).
