Default The RCNetwork's Yeti XL -KIT version!

We will start off with the unboxing video! Check out how it comes and how the upgrade parts look. Also a quick compare on the yeti kit and XL kit tires. It's pretty shocking!

We will start on Bag A.

And the parts removed:

After some assembly of the front diff, one of the out drives was not cut to size......so off to the dremel!

Put the included 20,000 diff oil and Did NOT fall for the Axial diff fluid explosion this time!

The Hot Bodies style pinion for the diff were pretty nice and solid!

Here's a look at the front bulkhead and shock tower assembled:

Now time for the rear diff, just shorter outdrives:

The rear diff pinion was similar to the front, but with a spline drive for the Wildboar HD XL rear driveshaft

I got some more building in this morning. Started with Bag D:

And a look at the parts:

The transmission seems pretty solid, but different from the 1/10th yeti.....there's a bolted in insert inside:

Now a pic of the transmission complete before the spur:

The XL comes with a steel spur and aluminum slipper pads with a disclaimer to NOT use the included red slipper pads:

Another nice difference between this kit and the 1/10th.....there's a plastic motor plate along with an aluminum plate that sandwiches together. The 1/10th is all plastic:

I have very high hopes for the rear driveshaft on the XL. Seems to be very burly and should do well:

I haven't got to the shocks yet. Should be tomorrow, but I assume not.......They may hold oil, but I doubt they have a true function

Lookin Good! I wish I would've waited for the kit. Totally bummed on the RTR right now.

About $150.00 will get you all the kit goodies, maybe a little less depending on where you buy parts from.

I look for Axial to switch the RTR hexes, stubs and axles to the kit version in the future. I don't see it really being cost effective to produce both when the kit version is far superior, I could be wrong though.

Another annoying question rich... Or any kit owners. Does it come with a pinion? Or do I need to order one...and along with that is it 32 pitch or mod 1
