These wheels you are recommending/using , aren't they 3.6 Dia. and the YXL Crawler tires 3.8 ?

Do you have any pics of the truck from the from, top or anything that would show it's width overall?

Thank you

Yes they are 3.8 just like the stock wheel. Seem to be same width as well, but I don't have a spare stock wheel to measure for exacts. the offset is a little wider than stock which is a plus.

Yup. I bought 2 sets and a full pre mounted set cause the stock rims suck so bad.

Correct.

A quick search and it looks like most places show back in stock "Late May". They are cheap so scoop them up if you can cause i doubt the wheels we really want will be made anytime soon.

Yes it does. I bought rival wheels and can confirm they fit just fine. You have to be careful with these wheels... there's a 23mm variant available that obviously won't work.

the 23mm version is for the EMTA. The MT4 and Rival are 17mm.
I listed part numbers at the beginning of this thread

Any tips for removing stock wheels with crawler innovation closed cell foams? I have these wheels but don't wanna damage the foams during the swap.

You would think by just looking at the pics that the RTR wheel and the Kit wheel with it's thicker strength members and deeper hex would be better than the MT4G3/Rival wheel. I can't comment on the RTR wheel but the MT4G3/Rival wheel is far far better than the "Kit" wheel. You can make plastic as thick as you want but if the plastic sucks aka too soft it won't matter.

Heat destroys closed cell foams and knowing these cannot be repreplaced doesn't make me wanna throw them in the oven because youtube says I can.

Rival wheel is thinner in every direction that I could tell.
Hard to believe these are the better option just eyeballing them but the results speak for themselves.

I know Right. They worked on my 13lb Rival, my Losi 8T on 6s and they work on the YXL. I'm not trained to know why but Axial needs some help in the plastics department. My Wraith and SCX were perfect. My 1st Yeti Jr not so much as well as my 2nd Yeti Jr. Too bad because i really like the look of the Raceline.

Sorry I have no experience with closed cell foams. I have used the bake method many times with success to move tires to new wheels but I do remember reading that closed cell foams would not survive. I should have given my reply more thought. My bad bro

www.vortexhobbies.com claim to have the wheels and orange and green rings in stock. Price is good. Delivery date for their cheap shipping was May 27-30.

I managed to melt a CI closed cell foam in an Axial kit Falken tire trying to bake it off. This was at 350 F, wrapped in aluminum foil on a cookie sheet for probably 45 min or more (including warm up time). I hadn't intended to bake it that long, but got distracted. The tire and wheel appeared to be fine (well the wheel hex was stripped before I tried this), but the closed cell CI foam swelled in the heat and then collapsed as it cooled. Not pretty.

The acetone method of tire removal might work better than baking or boiling with closed cell foams. I have NOT tried it. Lots of info online about how to go about it with a sealed bucket. May take up to a couple of days. Here's one link to start your research with:
