Just saw your video on Youtube about this build. This thing is crazy! I am amazed at how the body/cage turned out, but considering your previous builds, I'm not that surprised, either.

Can't wait to see this completed!

Glad you like how the video turned out. The wait is now for my X-Carve to come in, which is the desktop CNC mill with which I will machine the delrin and carbon. Should be here by the end of the week.

Yeti 380 4 seater with a Castle 1717 sounds insane to me. I 'll subscribe.

I am in the process of doing a Losi XXL conversion w/a 1717. It's the motor that is in the Traxxas XO-1 and 1/5 scale Castle conversion kits.

This is the funniest video i have seen of the 1717.

The 1717 is nowhere near the power of Castle's 2028 1/5 scale motor hilariously apart actually.

This is one sweet project though! I like it!! We need an update or two

You're going to love the XCarve. I've been having a ton of fun getting it up and running. I'm mostly using it for aluminum at the moment and it's rigid enough with quality bits to pull it off. Did you get the big one?

I did, with all the upgrades! Half of it is still in transit, I hope to be able to continue this week.

That X-Carve looks really nice, definitely will look forward to seeing how the rest of this pans out.

So finally the next crucial part for my build is in: the X-Carve by inventables. I have zero experience with CNC machines but managed to put it together and to make stuff with it! This thing is a seriously awesome piece of machinery.

This is the first test I did with it. I found an online file converter that can turn regular images into SVG files which get recognized by the software that comes with the X-Carve. Best way to explain this, the program is very simple, but when you get a bit creative after figuring out the basics you can get some pretty detailed and interesting results.

After getting comfortable using the machine I drew up the chassis plate. Starting off with that, then some uprights, cage panels and so on. For fitment I carved a template out of a pizza box using the machine to see if my drawing was correct. Seemed pretty ok.

Time to carve the 1/4 inch Delrin sheet. I made four separate files which I overlayed. One for the backside of the Delrin, to hollow it out slightly in order to sit fully flush with the original Yeti XL chassis plates, one with the fingerprint, one with logos and finally the cut out line for the chassis.

In case someone wants to attempt a build like this, I will eventually share all drawings and files so you can carve them out or have them machined. You can just leave out what seems to be not useful for you.

I'm in the process of machining the uprights that will go along the insides of the battery trays now, same technique with the pizza box as it worked pretty well for me. Thank you for all the kind words so far!
