Default New Kit coming Later this month...

Will be used for general bashing on fields and trails. 4S only to start.

Upgrades?

Steering: Do I need a full aluminum set up from GPM or HR, or can I buy individual components?

Slipper: Do I want to upgrade from the start?

Body: I plan to sell the unpainted panels and get some aluminum ones. Recommendations?

Anything else?

Thanks!

Barn Dog panels are great Love mine, way better than plastic. Plus if you paint em you have the ability to change colors or graphics unlike plastic.

They hold up great. I love mine and have had some good crashes. The only thing I have to do dig out the grass that gets stuck between panel and cage. No tears or cracks or popped body screws like with the stock body panels.

Good to hear. Did it make the whole cage a lot sturdier and more solid?

Honestly never paid attention to rigidness. Body is actually off right now and trying to twist the body it still has some movement or flex wich might be a good thing. I think if it is too rigid it could help breakage or failure with crashes.

My recommendations are to invest in DHAWK steering parts. The drag link is a must upgrade part and you will surely want an aluminum servo horn. The servo saver can be modified with a washer to make it stronger without spending the extra money.

The other place to spend money is the springs. Toss the kit springs and use the available through Axial "RTR length" springs. Stiff for the front and soft for the rear.

MY want to consider an aluminum front body mount as well. That was my other problem area.

No need to waste money on a slipper clutch. The stock one is perfectly fine, even with 6s operations.
Congratulations in advance!!

Quit telling people false info, the stock slipper IS a problem.

Look up all the people who have problems with it.

For now, its only a matter of time. If you count who's have failed/hasnt failed, failed slippers is definitely higher.

I run a stock slipper on 6s with a castle 2200 mm2. You can say all you want about the stock slipper. But, until you learn how to set uo, adjust and effectively utility that tuning mechanism, you need to respect first hand experience comments and not call people liars...

Simply because people have trouble with it does not mean it is a problem, perhaps it means a lot of people, not unlike you, do not know how to use it!

I use the RTR stock slipper set up with the fiber pads and have had no issues. However, I might be one of the lucky ones b/c a lot of peeps are having problems. I run 6s with the XL2 and a TP 4050 (2050 KV). Maybe, just run with stock until there is a problem.

That's a great price, I think I'm gonna do the same. What steering servo did you go with out of curiosity?

I went with a $30 shipped Solar D 772 steering servo from Amazon. Specs were good, 417 oz/in at 7.4V! My brother has had good luck in his 1/8 buggy with this brand... so I went for it.

D772
Speed @4.8v 0.22
Speed @ 6.0v 0.2
Speed @ 7.4v 0.17
Torque (oz./in) 4.8v 305.8
Torque (oz./in)6.0v 368.35
Torque (oz./in)7.4v 417

Gear Material Metal
Bearing Type Dual Ball Bearings
Digital / Analog Digital
Motor Type coreless

It is a 23T Horn...

We shall see!
