| Tuned Yeti XL suspension
I've been working on tuning my suspension over the past couple of weeks. I wasn't happy with the way the truck handled under speed and bumps right out of the box so I made the following adjustments. It mobs really well now and tracks amazingly through the bumps and jumps. see youtube video description for details. watch in 4K resolution on a computer for best detail. Yeti XL suspension Setup: Front: -Axial Green Springs 5.35lb adjusted 3/4 up body -40wt shock oil and 4-hole 1.4mm shock piston -Solar D77 Servo @ 6.0V (368 oz/in via CC BEC) -GPM servo link with plastic ends -Dhawk bellcrank -Aluminum camber and steering links with stock plastic ends -GPM C-hub and Knuckles -3 bearing mod, 3 shims at pinion, 1 shim at c-clip -Toe in: Measured Front:6-1/2 Rear: 6-5/8 to outside of tire for 1/16" difference. (front being smaller for toe-in) -Camber: stock measurements Rear: -stock links and axles -Axial Red springs 3.34lb adjusted mid body -20wt shock oil and 6-hole 1.4mm shock piston -Hot Racing rear swaybar with notched (lighter) torsion rod -3 bearing mod, 3 shims at pinion, 1 shim at c-clip. Wheels Tires: -Axial 8 Spoke oversized rims -RC4WD Mickey Thompson MTZ tires with additional 1" thk foam inside and out to bulge sidewalls -Hot Racing +5mm hubs ***Note that this hub and wheel combo require the red Hot Racing spacers behind the wheels to be flipped. If you don't run them you'll have to source a spacer or 3/4" washer. Last edited by BrandonM95; 11-11-2015 at 08:57 AM. |

Haha, I just poach the local construction sites during the weekends, that's all. This is a drainage field at a new church that went up. Saturdays fun Mickey Thompson MTZs with their stock foams an additional 1" of craft store foam on each side to bulge sidewall and help protect the beadlock screws. link to forum thread with pictures Last edited by THX_138; 01-09-2016 at 01:33 AM. |
