I bought one in November but have not installed it yet. The stock shaft is still holding on.

When I was poking around earlier I saw a couple adds labled 1 to 2 left and limited quantities as if those were it or all. Maybe not .

My experience using one for the first time, on dunes last saturday, with 6S: broke after 10 minutes... so now back to the stock shaft. I will go to the more expensive hot racing in case the stock one also fail.

SouthChill, I HIGHLY recommend doing the stock drive shaft mod , I made a thread about it, Prolly two or three pages back at this point..
I'm STILL on my first stock shaft, after close to 30 sets of 6S packs thru it.. I will not be upgrading from the stock one, Only keeping a spare one. If one has lasted this long, I'd really like to see what it takes to get one to break ( after doing the mod of course )

Really? Your the first person I've heard break one. Where did it break? Also, if you broke the dhawk one then the hot racing definitely won't last for you either.

Stock with the mod done was solid, but reason I ditched it was because it had a nasty wobble and it was brand new too.

If you guys wanna save a few bucks... Dhawk sources his goods from same place as GPM. Cheapest place/best stock for GPM is Asiatees. You can get the GPM driveshaft for $27 USD (you can also use 10% off coupon on top of that, believe it's "GPM10"). You end up paying about $7 shipping unless you spend $75 (then it's free). Took approx 5 weeks for me to get it in Canada...

Here's the info if anyone is looking:
GPM Racing Axial Yeti XL Steel #45 Rear Drive Shaft - 1 Pc Set Black YTL237S

If you are a NEW customer to Asiatees, look around their special offers, there's a $3 coupon for NEW customers on their first purchase you can apply on the order as well... (I think it's tied to your Paypal account email, so it's only valid ONCE).

Pro Mod Steve is just creating demand to unload the 25 he bought last month (joking).

I love the Dhawk drive shaft. I still can't figure out what's up the goofy font, but it's not like I see it while it's flying past me.

@southchill, I would love to see a picture of the broken shaft (if you still have it). I love RC carnage. Hopefully you just got a faulty one. I went through 2 stocks shafts before getting the Dhawk and haven't had an issue since. The stock shafts would get twisted. I was harder on the throttle back then though.

I have rhe Dhawk rear center driveshaft and I'm running 6S lipo with a Leopard 4292 motor and so far this driveshaft has held up fine without issue. I did the 3rd bearing mod before I got my vanquish and actually managed to still destroy the rear housing twice. The pinion gear would deform the plastic housing and land side way at a 45 degree angle. Still... The driveshaft bever died from that much torque so unless it's defective I have a hard time seing how someone broke it unless he has a Vanquish and did standing backflip on asphalt.

Also one of my friend had the hot racing one and it's a piece of... next to mine.

Btw it was written "Teti XL" on mine

Holy crap. Are you guys landing off jumps at full throttle or something? I have a pretty heavy XL @ 6s and I cart wheel it often......... my Dhawk/GPM shaft is fine. I am not a jumper though. A bad batch that wasn't tempered may be it. That ball/socket may be too hard/brittle.
